have been chao kenging since before CNY. my last run was probably a day or 2 before CNY. after which i have been going on status trying to lead the easy life.

a week ago, went for my 2nd year ippt. did not had high hopes of passing. wanted to keng out again with my friends. in the end went for it. thank God managed to pass it on my first attempt.

all these while been training my bicep only. recently started running again. hoping to clock at least 25km each week. during my inactive time i have put on some weight now time to shed it all and start looking lean again.

been doing some night running, hoping to achieve the goals that i have set out for myself. wanna look good for phuket trip thats why been pushing myself very hard. at least now i am quite happy with how my bicep is looking.

been eating healthily as well and cutting down on my carbo intake. doubt can hit the packs but at least can go back to my lean way if i stick to my regime for the whole month.

at least one thing i am glad is that finally managed to meet up ch and van after so long. can't really remember when was the last time i spent time with them. probably the last time was during my birthday.

been spending my time reading books lately. nth much to do so might as well start reading novels. too free till i can finish one novel per day. been reading nicholas sparks books. touching a little on mitch albom books as well.

as i refused to be a bangala worker, i have been trying to spend my time more wisely. either sleeping or reading books or playing psp or going to school as i look forward to being a free man.

been working out very faithfully to build up my bicep. trying to reach tim's standard but this week i realised his bicep getting even bigger because he is doing 100 pull up everyday. well nvm at least my bicep seems to be bigger than the past, well to me.

went to ps cafe. i cannot believe that my army friends made me do what i will normally not do at all. no complaints because to me they are ppl who really push me and force me and if have too will beat me up into trying something new and move out of my comfort zone.

whether anot is a success or not it does not matter because at least i took the first step and they could see alot of change since the first day our life cross one another. at least now i am getting bolder and taking control of my own life.

looking forward to phuket more or less got everything down already. hotel was booked on monday, planning to rent a car and drive and also our camp mate provide us alot of details and where to go when we are in phuket.

phuket here we come!

These fantastic group of people are my closest friends in camp. Really enjoy being with them. As of now, officially 99 real days to ORD!! Going back to camp..entering bunk and not seeing them is real sian. Staying home during off or leave is even more sian. As quoted from hamster "I am actually missing my friends in camp!! too bored at home"

We really do everything together. In the past, our "hobbies" are watching late night movie in camp till 1am or 2am the favourite would be watching the entire SAW series, Paranormal Activites where I would make all kind of noise in the middle of the show, going to the gym together, boozing, cards, more movies.

Recently as most of us are still single, we love to catch every new movies that we think is nice on thursday because thats the time when new movies are release in Singapore and also during the weekend. Once after roll call at 5.30pm we would all rush to snatch a cubicle and start washing up, tim and me as the chief driver would race each other and make it to the theatre before 7 to buy our tix.

Going to Harry's bar during nights out day or maybe a cafe for a simple meal. For me and Johnny it would always be after class i will go and pick him up from his class and we would head to Alamin for prata. To meeting in the weekend like last week just for a simple meal and sitting at Ngee Ann City under the flag pole talking till the wee hours.

They really introduce me to alot of news things that I will not do. Because I am a introvert person and take a long time to warm up to people. Tim love to tell people about me "Ethan, first time see him so quiet, gedong days always sleep early hardly talk with us. Moment go brigade change man smoke us, prank us, loud person." But is also because of them that I change for the better I feel.

The curtains to my ARMY DAYS are closing. There is a saying "it ain't over until the fat lady sing" which is in 99 more days.

Always enjoy all their company because in one or another way they would impact my life.

In Johnny I learnt how to drink all kinds of drinks. He was the one who train most of us before we head to bali last year by downing us with beers after beers. Now he is training me with whisky, vodka, red wine. Previously hate drinking not that I love it or anything but now I am just a social drinker. The oldest in my batch he imparted alot of things in life. Is always with him that we break alot of rules. Every book out day together I would send him home.

Tim a fanatic for alot of extreme sports or rather sports that not alot of us like. He is the person that hate politics, violence. Always the most level headed guys that will always remind us to keep check of our temper. In him I learnt how to drive even more recklessly (skillfully), to be more fit, and spurn up a little interest in photography. But ultimately he is the person that teach me to be more confident and to open up myself even more.

Hamster my future class mate he is a very loyal friend. He is one person along with tim that I like to smoke. Always fall for whatever I say. In him i learn nth because he is the 2nd youngest among these grp of friends. This guy as well every book out day he will be in my car. Some times when I don't feel like driving and he is I would hitch a ride from him.

But these 3 guys they are my best friends in camp. We would always be fighting to foot the bill. Always hanging out with one another and Johnny would always be the one that provide us with the booze no matter what we are doing.

White hair. He is the person that brings laughter ALL THE TIME into our life. He is really a very funny person the way he talk, his actions etc. Always kena tau pok from us esp Johnny. Having him makes your life very colourful.

Beng my bed buddy ever since I enter brigade. Even when we went to Bali we stick with one another. The most helpful guy around. In him I learnt how to Zhuo Ren. because he really know how to Zhuo Ren.

Ganja Boi the youngest. Whining is his favourite hobby. But he is a very colourful character. Will always send him to and fro from camp. He is the person that trying to make me a very loud person because he is a loud person. Winding down the window, blasting the music and singing like nobody business thats what we do when we are on our way back home.

Right now everyday going back to camp we feel like bangala worker. But why there are no complaints from me is because of them I look forward to seeing them. Life will be different when we don't get to see each other 6 days a week. Looking forward to our ORD trip to PHUKET before all of us go our seperate ways.

More or less we have come out with our itinerary. Diving, ATV, BUNGEE JUMPING, SURFING, and many more. In Bali i spent close to 900 Singapore Dollar. This time round gonna bring bring 1000 Singapore dollar and my ATM card just in case we run out of money. Learnt from exp. We are just going to have a blast at there for 7 days and the next time when I will see tim again is when he comes back to see me and johnny collect our pink IC.

I have decided to work hard and save money. Gonna get a condo/apartment in singapore before 25. Work super hard and buy a house beside hamster and tim when they finally decide to relocate to Australia. Semi-Retire by the age of 35 and shuttle btw Aust and Singapore.

From now till phuket is abt 2 months. Got to train super hard. Haven't been working out much due to school work. Bicep seems to be getting smaller. End result must be 50% of Kellan Lutz's body. Long shot but can try.

Also not forgetting my closest friends CH and Van. Never without fail every year always celeb my birthday, making it an enjoyable night and a memorable one too. Both of them have stripped me to almost my bare bones. They know almost everything that is happening to me.

It is a blessing. I don't complain if we don't see each other often. Friendship are probably tested when you don't see each other often and yet able to sustain it. I love the fact that we are not pressured to meet one another all the time.

I am blessed to have friends like them that don't complain when I spend most of my time with my army friends. But at least I do try to meet them once a month haha and spend quality time catching up with my 2 good friends.

In future I must make it a point to be more generous with them the same thing fight to foot the bill, go holiday with them.

All these people well they are great because they don't look at you with colour lenses and accept you for who you are not because of race or religion or background. Thats why they make great company. Immerse in their company brings great joy to my life.

I admit things have change for me in my life. Well changes are inevitable and change is the only thing that is constant. By that only ch, van, tim, johnny and hamster know about it.

They are the person that I share this thing with. This change probably ppl might not like it or they have differ views. But I am thankful that these 5 people accept this change in my life and never tell me off or start a long story or anything. I will not give up like what i told tim but just that probably you got to accept the fact that this change have happen.

to sum up 2009, it had been a very eventful year, a year where i made a lot of important/life changing decision, one that i tried to be more mature for myself and the people around me especially my family, one where i made friends with meaningful people who challenge me to step out my comfort zone and do things that i have never done before.

the goals that i have set out to conquer at the start of 2009, at least 80% i have achieved. a fantastic group of friends that i knew in my teenage years have stick by me throughout 2009 and for many years to come.

not much idea what 2010 holds for me. all i know is that i am turning 23 soon and all of a sudden i feel so old yet to accomplish much things nor do anything big or significant yet. all will change when i got hold of my pink ic in 5 months.

the pressure/burden of keeping the business afloat and probably bring in new ideas to start making more money will be the main goal for me in 2010.

maybe gonna pack more travelling into my 2010 schedule. one of my dream is to see the whole world and one day by a house in a certain country and divide my equally in singapore and that country.

finally finish serving all my confinement. however there was some issue and we were threaten with more confinement the week after we completed our confinement. but all is well now. recently life in camp ain't so good. over the past 2 weeks quite alot of things happen. seeing quite a few people ORD make me can't wait to ORD as well. but right now i need to focus on some things back in camp and get it done.

spent alot of time with my camp mates recently. visited dempsey on a thursday nights out, sat i was back in dempsey for a chill out session with hammy before meeting the guys at timbre substation to celeb beng birthday.

this week caught PARANORMAL ACTIVITY in camp. the spooky thing was i switched off all the lights in the office. it was pitch dark except for the tv. half way through the movie one of the com auto switch on. not that it bother us alot. the whole movie was ok not as scary as what it was made to be. in fact i had a peaceful night actually everybody had a peaceful night.

made a mad rush down to city area on thursday to catch the premier of 2012. the movie was worth the $6. a great movie gonna be a hit with the audience. after the movie we went to newton for dinner before the rest of the guys head back to camp while i send johnny back.

sch so far so good. trying to maintain a good result and trying to juggle sch with my many commitments. at least i am hoping to get all A for my whole course.

my camp buddies. travelled to bali together. they are probably the best buddies i can find in camp. go through everything no matter the situation is huge or insignificant. through every individual i get to learn alot out of them.

a novice surfer. spent some quality time in the sea just surfing. is because of them my dream of travelling oversea materialise.

white water rafting was also on our agenda. is because of them i get to do all kindda of crazy water sports and be free to be who i am with no pretense and enjoy my life.

after rafting hit the beach for a game of beach soccer. even though they don't enjoy soccer as much as i do. but for me they joined in to ensure i get a taste of beach soccer.

is because of them, i am slowly trying to break my shell and step out of my shyness to know other people and be less introvert.

we have treated bali as our 2nd home strolling down the bustling street topless.

these are the guys that i would entrust my life to. these are the guys why my weekend confinement is easy to endure because we are all in it together.

thats the reason why we are going to a malaysia roadtrip this coming december and also to phuket next may. thats the reason why camp is no longer a hardship because they are the reasons and I thank God for giving me a chance to know this wonderful fantastic people.

2 weeks ago get to spend a great time with my good friends. although it was a short time together out celebrating daniel's birthday. to me it was a fruitful time as i don really spend alot of time with my this grp of wonderful friends that have seen me through everything the last 6-7 years.

on off for the rest of the week until the weekend since i still have 2 more confinement to serve for being caught resting in bunk during office hours. got to prepare for my exam this sat before going to my camp buddy birthday at timbre and waste ourself ok not me since i am driving before all of us head back for confinement.

the bad thing is i will miss the BIGGEST MATCH on sunday. still contemplating of getting MC so i can catch the match but my decision will rest on my camp buddy shoulder.

Marksmen baby! the good thing is obtain marksmen, free off to get and also $200 which goes to my petrol/phuket trip etc.

Oh yes the biggest news to come out together me and 4 of my bali mates are nominated for BEST SOLDIER. oh wait i just remember i and 3 of my bali mates are no longer in the running for the award since we are being awarded confinement haha.

not that it matter much. but the favour shown by the higher management is tremendous. we are quite low profile. but through this confinement i realised actually we quite popular and most of the captain and major and colonel know all of us. and most of them teased us upon learning our confinement. although brigade life is very different as compared to the past but is also because of these very nice regulars it makes life fun as well. will miss them when they all start posting out/resign at the end of the year.

haven't been blogging that often.

just came back from a well deserve trip to bali. actually is quite hard to believe that i am back in singapore and when monday come i will be giving instructions, taking care of the guys in camp, doing servicing and back to the regimental life.

how i wish i can wake up at 9 take my time go for breakfast with the amazing view of bali welcoming me. go for a short swim before taking the shuttle bus to kuta. heckling with the locals before getting our stuffs, going for all kinds of water sports, etc. they say good things never last. seem like i just woke up from a good dream.

i can stand by this when i say i have no prob staying there for a good 6 months before coming back to singapore. which led me to ponder to the future maybe when i make it big and everything is settled here in singapore i am gonna get a house. ok not a house at bali but at australia and shuttle between singapore and australia spending half a year in each country without renouncing my singapore passport.

excluding JB i think the last time i took a plane and travel oversea was 6 years ago after my N level i went to japan. although i really feel sad and find it hard to come back to reality, the good thing is me and my friends we are probably gonna plan a Bali 2 or maybe to some other country. at the mean time i am definately saving up to go either japan, usa or europe next year for my ORD trip although initially i thought of heading to spain. but all could change.

i think Bali is amazing. i think if you asked around no one will tell you they spent 6 days there but thats how long me and my camp mates spent at there. not a day was filled with boredom. for me the highlight is definately the river rafting followed by me finally getting a tattoo.

spent abt 800 to 900 down there. but is all worth it! time spent with my close friends in army and also getting to experience alot of new things.

i have been trying to shed off some of the old image and probably infuse some new image. i can say that this trip really lead me to know myself even more and also slowly changing me. also i need to thank my wonderful friends for helping me. although i always am the butt of johnny's jokes.

i must say that our trip is sort of supposed to be model after this movie "THE HANGOVER". The main plot follows four friends who travel to Las Vegas for a bachelor party, only to wake up the next morning not remembering a thing and missing the groom, whose wedding is scheduled to occur the next day. minus the dazzling las vegas and bachelor party and groom.

ok there was no hangover at all. but we wanted to model it like this movie and kindda sabo our friend nickname white hair. but in the end i think i ended up being the one whose spot rightfully should belong to him.

i don't really remember buying anything for my mom. going there i see tim and johnny getting stuffs for their gf and family. plus my 3 other friends who are still single getting stuffs for their parents i was like the only one there spending the least as in buying very little stuffs. decided to spend US$50 dollar on a top for my mom. ponder for a few days which one to get for her. in the end decided to get the top from this shop call ULUWATU. that shop sell handmade top, dress etc.

wanted to get that dress for my mom if i was attach i would have gotten that beautiful dress for my gf. but it cost a bomb US$100. so in the end settle for something that is half that amount as i could see a huge hole on my pockets. my friends were telling me to get XS for my mom as most of them saw my mom before. however i bulk at that idea even though my mom is petite but definately not XS. got a S and i am glad it fit her real nice. even my dad commented that the top look pretty.

scored another point in the family history book.

even good dreams will come to an end. adjusting back to singapore life. toning down the havoc side. and can't wait to ORD which is like in 7 months - 8 months.

gotten my car last week. really thank God for this enormous blessing. I don't need to pay a single cent for this car except for the maintainence, fuel, tax, erp, etc.

always wanted to have my own car now that i have one i realised how not easy to support a car myself. not easy. but i gonna take it as another step to really manage my finances even better.

this year, really have been a very good year. only 8 months ago we were asked to write down all our goals. i think i have practically reached all my goals that i have set out for the whole year.

started school for some time and is no mean feat to juggle camp and school. in order to make up for all the loss time and all the slack i have thrown in i made the decision with ch months ago to take up part-time study while we are still serving the nation.

with the appointment i am holding in camp, and work never seem to cease in camp sometime i wish i can just quickly give up the appointment i am holding in camp to concentrate fully in my studies.

proj deadline is just around the corner and exam is imminent which explain why i am on off to concentrate on my project. after being out of sch for some time, needed some time to oil and start up my engine.

not easy but at least i am still determine to finish it since next year i don't really see myself having lots of time since i have decided to take over my dad business. i think is in the blood/gene or whatever. it seem destine that i am the one who will take over since both my brother did not really show any intention to take over the business.

now i just can't wait to leave singapore and go for a short holiday. finally bought the ticket. its been some time since i actually went for a holiday. going to bali with my army mates to just relax and enjoy the sun and the beach.

the air is filled with excitment among the group of us. gonna rent car, most probably go diving and do all sort of water sport that is not possible in singapore. more or less planned our itinerary for 6 days 5 night trip which will happened during the last week of september.

probably going to army have made me mature alot.

in camp got a few people into photography. have been talking to them about it. initially my plan was to get a DSLR probably a few years.

had thoughts of buying my friend's canon DLSR. but last week i remember that i had this old retro cam above at home. just that the lens need to bring it to service and clean up and repair it so that it can be used again. when i become more free i will go bring it for servicing.

what i am looking for is this type of non digital cam. probably gonna learn how to develop the picture myself.

the busy days in camp is gonna last for another month or 2 before i fly to australia for exercise wallaby. find the management kindda screw up in camp this week. because i made an effort to check last week whether is there any deadline for the vehicles that are going to wallaby.

no deadlines were given. however this week i was bombarded with many calls asking for the handing over of the vehicles. rushed out 5 vehicles for them but because of the miscommunications and other stuffs i dunno what they want to do. just do my part the rest just let my superior deal with it.

friday was our brigade anniversary. thank God that my junior gave me a ride to chevron since i can't used the car yesterday. after the celebration me along with 4 other drivers went back camp to work on the vehicles since my master promise to hand over 2 veh.

he already made a few of us angry by promising people to hand over another 2 veh. say alot of nice things like he can give us a ride back to camp. but he was nowhere to be found in camp and the tech who was supposed to help us were not even in camp.

after that we went to prep for our soccer. went on to win the match 8-1 against HQ armour. i think or rather 90% confirm that the brigade is in the finals which will be on next thursday. once again assured of a medal already and also some off to look forward to.

today went to take a look at some cars and have to make my decision soon which car to choose from. test drive the toyota vios racing edition, hyundai i30 and kia cerato. tomorrow gonna go test drive the nissan latio sport series. somehow is just between toyota or nissan.

thankful that my parents are willing to get me a car.

finally got my exercise regime back on track. ever since exercise DA started i have not been exercising as much as i wanted. partly also because i was quite lazy. but because of the recent concluded inter-company soccer tournament i started to slowly exercise.

with Army Half Marathon around the corner training for it since i am a second year soldier and have to complete 21km. just did my first 10km run at MacRitchie Reservoir on tuesday where i clock just slightly above 70 mins. did my second 10km where i clock 58 mins.

after the run at MacRitchie Reservoir met up my ord senior at plaza sing for dinner. kindda surprised that he got me and my 2 friends a t-shirt from japan.

at the same time training for the inter-unit soccer tournament. managed to get in the 16 men that brigade is sending to compete in this tournament which will start tomorrow.

all this exercise is a good thing since i am also training to clear my 2nd year window for ippt. at least now i know i am somehow in good shape to go take my ippt.

life in camp getting more and more busy and there are more and more things for me to handle. more deadline to meet. good thing is my new superior is a very nice guy so there isn't much pressure. how i wish that the year will end sooner so that i can slowly slowly start handing over my tasking to my juniors while i start to have the ORD mood.

getting very very hard for me to balance my life. every week after i booked out all i want to do is just stay at home to rest up and not be at anywhere. can't seem to find enough rest in camp since everyday is just work and work.

the only thing i looked forward after office hours is our movie screening. not so bad caught quite alot of movies that are not out in singapore yet and some recent movies like "the unborn", "walled in", "dolan's cadillac" just to name a few.

had dinner with my parents today. was talking about how my auntie want to retire. i think is 100% confirm that next year immediately after i ORD i will be taking over the shop at queensway and start my apprenticeship.

i also can't say for sure is that what i really want to do. but nonetheless is better than to fold the shop. i do have other goals but the only thing hindering me is $$$ to fulfill my goals. so like fragance hotel boss i gonna help my parents in their business save up the $ and probably venture into other business.

next week will go test drive. gonna scout for my first car.

super BUSY in camp over the last few weeks. i hold the appointment of 2ic in my branch. but everyday without fail, the IC will be asked to do errands for my encik and in the end the person that suffer will be me.

alot of info are being pump into me. practically assuming the ic position for a month plus. work in camp keep stacking. seems like impossible to clear it.

i am practically in charge of almost every events that is coming up. status of indian fleet vehicles, preparing for wallaby fleet of vehicles, the numerous vehicles whose servicing are due, gathering names for wallaby, marching contingent for COC parade and other more.

very tempted to take a break from camp but not very worth it now to start wasting my off since i already wasted alot of off.

at least i thank God that my juniors 60% of them are super "garang" and really helped me alot and do up the task that i allocated to them.

don't really have much time for other things since work in camp take up most of my time. even during the weekend is all about work since people will call me up and ask abt stuffs.

so naturally nights out mostly are spent at yew tee for a quick dinner before heading back to camp to rest and have our daily movie screening.

but the good thing to it is that i have been spending alot of time with my army mates. even had our 2nd movie outing together before i go back camp last sat for COS duty.

this week had soccer tournament. played our heart out. the tournament was concluded on friday where we emerge as the champion. at least the pace in camp is generally quite ok now where we can have some inter-unit tournament a so call in camp cohesion.

the decentralise zone svc to me i think is a success even though there were a few mistakes here and there but at least the people who were in the same team as me got to do something new. glad that everybody got to learn something new and garner the experience. somehow is always through this events that you get to do something different. not only do my team members learn something new i too discover the many limitations that i experience helming the svc. but at least i do get to learn a few new things in the ministry too.

straight after song of solomon last week rushed back home because had a movie date with my family. waited very long to catch this show because my big bro wanted to catch this show with us when he returned for his holiday. not very very fantastic compared to the 1st installment but as usual with so many comedians this movie definately filled the theatre with laughters.

finally gotten my ipod touch. put in all these old movies because i am on COS duty on friday which spell "LONELY". caught wedding crashers very old movie the day i booked in on sunday. spent the night just watching it very nice show.

i wasn't prepared for morning PT the next day. the last time i ran was 2 months plus ago because i was so busy with PBH planning for the exercise. ran 5km on monday which render me useless for the whole day because i was so tired i did not wanted to do much work in camp.

monday night was spent playing bang bang with my favourite senior who will ORD on monday. promised him months ago to play bang again but could not find the time until monday. play till 12 plus in the morning before concluding a tiring day.

tuesday, nights out was spent rushing to the grand cathay to catch terminator salvation. months ago when the trailer came out i did not get a single thing and deem this movie "unwatchable". prior before that my senior was trying to psycho me to go watch hannah montana movie cannot believe it. anyway i'm glad i caught this show because this is a fantastic show.

actually monsters vs aliens garner quite a lot of positive reviews but halfway through the movie 2 person left and also this movie quite boring not as fantastic as the previous animated movies. thank God i never spend a single cent on this movie.

did my very first COS duty yesterday. Now i am a important man in the brigade and i hold a considerable amount of power. but at the same time with this power it leaves me very vulnerable to sign many many extra.

thank God duty was carried out quite smoothly with a couple of mistakes here and there. somehow those mistakes got me kindda cranky and somehow when i replied msg and calls yesterday i think people were thinking what happened.

anyway spent the long lonely night in CHQ office rotting to death and hoping that dawn will come soon so i can hand over my duty to the next COS.

caught this movie during the night. the introduction of this movie turn me off many times because i was so lost and many times i was so tempted to just give up on this movie. a modern adaptation of romeo and juliet. not so bad old old movie.

left camp very late since i had to teach my friend how and what to do for COS.

very extremely tired because i did not have much rest. went out with my mom and big bro to town to go and get his stuffs before he return to melbourne. had dinner together with them which is quite a rare thing. can't remember when was the last time we had one.

recently not feeling very well. i think my MO gonna send me go do x-ray very soon to determine what is wrong with me. this week kindda my worst week.

on the other hand this week i got the news that i have been waiting for all week. gonna let my direct superior look through and approve my studies.

and today my mom was telling me that today wanted to go do some test drive because my dad want to get me a car. have every intention to pay him back slowly. although is not my dream car but i have yet to really confirm whether i wanna get it anot. anyway i can really see that 2009 is the best year for me yet.

also most likely gonna move to a bigger house if the price is right.

did my last guard duty for the rest of my life on sunday. although i am still thinking whether to talk to my CSM and see whether can i go back to doing guard duty instead of COS. heard from my sergeant that is actually other sergeants from different branch submitted my name for COS duty. sigh..

practically spent the whole of sunday just watching movies after movies. caught ghost of girlfriends past. quite not so bad show.

caught "powder blue" a new show but doubt it will be release in the theatre. quite a complicated movie but also quite not so bad movie.

lastly instead of sleeping we carried on watching the incredible hulk at 12 midnight. quite slow in catching this movie but because one of the signaller said that is his last guard duty as well want to spend it watching movie we obliged and watched together.

this resulted in me and my friend who was doing our last shift duty to actually returned back to guard room late because we overshot the time.

because tuesday we had our long awaited cohesion, we got to book out for the night and meet up at safra yishun at 10am. played 2 games of bowling. last time round i fared very badly and end up with a disappointing result.

not that i am any better but at least i am improving each time i played the game. at least this time round managed to score above 100 out of the max score of 300. starting to enjoy bowling.

next we made our way to upper serangoon for our retreat at "people like us" cafe.

basically this cafe is just like minds cafe. similar concept. enjoyed and spend the whole afternoon at that place for board games and an informal meeting.

evening a group of us decided to head to bugis for steamboat dinner. the dinner was good but the companions were great. so much so it resemble like reunion dinner whereby everybody just gathered for dinner. somehow a tradition for all us after cohesion to all go for dinner and spend the night having a hearty meal before heading back to camp.

caught this very old movie "havoc". because my friend knew that i am a fan of anne hathaway decide to show me one of her more serious work which he say will change my impression of her. well this movie did not made it into the theatre and went straight to the dvd department. the last movie we caught for the week before i am on off for the rest of the week.

caught Angels and Demons on saturday. ignoring all the catholic issue that surround this movie, despite the mix review from critics actually i find it quite nice. in the mould of national treasure and indiana jones. perhaps is because i did not read the novel from dan brown as well. because after reading a small portion of dan brown's novel i realised that the director did make quite a number of changes. now i am very interested in catching da vinci code since i did not watch before.

on that faithful night sigh kanna pulled over by the police because my passengers did not buckled up. this offence comes with 3 demerit points and a hefty fine of $120. i vaguely remember someone told me that any incident outside will be notify to SAF. the only good thing so far is i have not received anything so hopefully it stay this way till the end of the week.

decided to extend my off this whole week because i had some matters to settle. gonna get it all done by tmrw and there goes one burden. again trying to meet all the goals i have set for myself. also have to thank Shang for helping me alot for getting all the necessary info and answering all my questions. without him i think i would have had a great headache.

yesterday met up with ch and van at town. needed to enquire some stuffs before we headed to fish & co for dinner. jus spend some time with them which is good as well because i don't really forsee myself having much free time in future. gonna head down to Shang's place to catch the FINALS. as usual last year ard this timing i was down there celebrating with shang so hopefully tonight will be the same. tmrw the town is gonna be painted RED!

got news today that i am indeed taken out of guard duty to perform company orderly sergeant (COS) duty. sigh very sian about it. although the good thing is no more mosquitoes bite/late night waking to perform duty/sweating in the middle of the night/no more turn out. but then i rather have all these then to do COS. 1 year of COS cannot believe it!

had a real frustrating morning. woke up at 9 plus was reading the papers when i got "millions" of calls from different people in camp. apparently they were trying to contact me to ask me to get back to camp because firstly the command post needed to be take over by the camp that loan it to us. secondly we did not inform our branch warrant that we are on off.

got ready and stuffs left house whereby my mom decide to drop me off since i had to reach camp by 12 if not is sign extra or confinement. along the way i cannot believe it what is happening! all my friends started calling me since they can't get the IC.

half way through the journey called my direct superior to see what he got to say about it. storms were brewing which kindda left 12 of us stranded in the middle dunno what to do. in the event if we listen to our direct superior we end up making our encik angry by listening to our encik our direct superior will be angry because he approve our off which goes to say his authority will be undermine.

got drag into this mess for no reason because apparently i wasn't told after i came back from my last off that we had to inform our encik when we going to take off. in the end managed to get hold of the IC to go back camp and talk to our encik.

apparently there is nth much for us to do just that he wants us to come back and get a scolding before asking all of us to go back. sigh cannot believe it.

in the end all of us decide to turn back half way into our journey and head home. if there is any music to face we will all face it on next wed. but thank God at least everything is settled just go back get some scolding thats all.

a bad way to start the day.

sort of double joy today. firstly early in the morning, my friend informed me after reading an email that me and him we are eligible for promotion to CPL. that is definately a good thing! but there are pros and cons to being a CPL. at least God is good because i am really heading towards almost all the goals that i have set for myself.

secondly around 2.30pm i was informed along with 2 others to head down to spec mess at 3pm. at first we were thinking hmm why must we be there. then we remembered that there is happy hour for all the ns men and 3SG and above. Thought that maybe we were invited for happy hour. moment we were done with work we stepped out of office S1 spoke to us whom we knew from exercise time. He congratulated us which kindda left us very puzzled.

head down did some work along the way to spec mess. then there were more sai kang. immediately we thought that we are there to be sai kang warrior or waiter boy again. little would we know, all 3 of us were presented a "Letter of Commendation". apparently my direct superior, DYS4 and my branch major after a meeting decide to nominate us for all the hard work that we put in during exercise.

total shock. for this exercise i was in the planning group. a very stressful and painful tiring job. everything that i know is through my seniors who passed us every knowledge that they have. if you ask me i think this letter of commendation should go to them and not me. after talking to my direct superior he told me that they decided to nominate us because firstly we still have one year to go, secondly the seniors will also be commended in their COS, thirdly the officers in my branch recognise our effort and see us as the go to person and appreciate everything that we are doing now, lastly my direct superior want us to maintain the standard and leave no room for criticism from our peers or juniors.

how prestige is this Letter of Commendation. this is a full brigade exercise. hundreds are involved in this exercise just from my brigade. however me and my 3 friends are the only LCP to be awarded with such recognition, the only handful NSF to get this award and also the only few people out of the hundreds that participated in this exercise to get this award which will be written in our COS when we ORD.

some people have been commenting am i really that busy in camp. i am not saying that this letter of commendation justify anything. but in presenting this letter of commendation my performance over the last 6 months was taken into account as well. so i am not "twanging" in camp. but things will just get busier till end of the year.

last week was a very tiring and busy week. had a turn out preps just before the exercise started. to mark our last free day me and a few friends actually stayed up to catch "the international" seriously the movie is not very fantastic and the ending really really cannot make it. go one whole big round to get to this ending when the whole movie can end in like 5 mins.

tuesday we were whiff off to PLC to set up the command post which will be my house for the whole exercise. the only good news that came to me was that my direct superior did not want me to go to PLC next day because he did not want to tax me as i was also involved in the river crossing exercise which will not allowed us to sleep for 36 hours.

so wed was spent in camp doing all the other works and night time was spent catching "get smart" which is definately a better movie then the international. plus my favourite hollywood actress is in it!

thursday was the real thing. put on the game face. this is my first major exercise. and this exercise alone was label a 5 star exercise which means many visitors will be coming. Chief of Defence was here the only 3 star general in singapore, so was the DPM who came down to see us work.

was put on a 12 hours shift which is no joke. after working for 12 hours in the command post churning out what we are task to do all we can think of is rest and slp. we had a make shift rest area with air-con for us to bunk in after our shift. but the worst thing about this is the whole room is so cold and many people walked in and out of the room which disrupted our slp.

woked up at 4am because could not stand the cold as well as to start preparing to take over from shift alpha. having the early shift means there are more work to do and the only positive thing is that we get to have a normal sleep unlike shift alpha which had to struggle to sleep in the morning.

through this exercise i really get to strengthen bonds with my fellow cell members and also with my different captains and nsmen in my branch.

friday night we decided to go find another place to bunk in because the room that was provided to us simply sigh. DYS4 sir actually msg us because earlier i told him we got a better place to crash in which of course i was pulling his leg. but also because of him we were quite daring to do alot of things which we ain't supposed to do.

through him we get to go shower near the swimming pool. previous night we already went recce for a nice place to slp but could not found any. but thank God it was friday and everybody was not in camp so together with him we found ourselves a real bunk with bed and pillow to slp in.

this is the best outfield experience!!!

sat another day spent in the command post to churn out more work before retiring to the same bunk till 2am where i was part of the advance party to set up another command post for the river crossing exercise.

definately well taken care of by my direct superior. he even cooked my combat ration for me or rather make it hot so that it taste nicer and easy to consume. thing is we were told that we will not be able to slp but he actually gave us some rest here and there.

cannot believe it when he actually told us that exercise would extend till wed. i was so looking forward for exercise to cut but because of problem to the raft as well as unfavourable weather. but God is good somehow exercise was cut as per schedule on tuesday.

because i belong to CAHQ for this river crossing i was the last to raft over to the other side. rafting is a very new and delightful experience. you don't get to see tank or command post rafting too often.

upon reaching back to camp received news that one of my captain giving us half day off which means we can book out at 12pm. left camp only at 3 because there were alot of things to settle.

yesterday was talking to my direct superior for an hour till i missed my dinner. through talking to him i realised how good a superior he is. because of him i can book in on that day for guard duty, if we have any request like wanting extra nights out he will give it to us. supposed to get extra 2 days off because of the effort i put in, due to some incident it was cancelled but he assured me that i need not worry one way or another he will give me more off. he gave us some advices. seriously hard to find a good superior. the sad thing is he is leaving this brigade next month.

caught this fantastic movie. it had a limited release in the US and it will not be screen in singapore as well due to financial issue. but the only bad thing about this movie is it also had a lousy ending!

so far this 6 months have been a very good. no complains. almost all the goals that i had set out some of them have already been met, some already progressing. can't think of any goals that i have not even worked on yet. probably need to plan some new goals for myself.

at the start of the year i wanted to be a vehicle OIC or dealing with finance side. was appointed 2nd ic. not that i am complaining nor am i disappointed. because i found out that in order to go study i won't have time on my hand to juggle army work and sch work. beside i managed to relief myself from lance guard which will free up even more time.

officially on off from tmrw. a super long week to rest up before going back on the 27th afternoon. took off on 27 morning to catch the final btw man u and barca. 29 is off in due as well before heading back to camp to do guard duty on the 31st. well that somehow sum up my month.

did morning sentry on monday double up as a part-time medic had to station in front the gate to take temp for all civillians who are entering camp. very tedious task which kindda robbed away rest time. some how i don get it what are the job scope of the mp and rp when 90% of the time i don see them. and you have them complaining that they have a tougher job when all they do is twang in their room.

during the little rest i have i managed to catch this show. a movie packed with laughter no wonder it top the US box office. but is not a show really worth watching in the cinema.

wednesday took morning half day off to watch man u annihilate arsenal in the champions league final. thought that i won't be able to take off because my friends told my capt that my reason was to watch the match. but surprisingly he allowed me to take. 3 weeks later i am going to take off again to catch the final!

had a real busy day in camp on wed because we need to get alot of things done for this coming week major exercise. a little dispute happened which made me and my friend decide that we will all work late on wed. worked all the way till 11.30pm before we packed up and called it a day.

a mistake for me and my friend to suggest catching ong bak 2 before we go to bed. because by the time the whole show ended it was close to 2am. an all action film but seriously this film has the worst ending one can ever think of.

was on off on friday. but because of the many works that are left undone and also my capt asked me to help him do some work ended up leaving camp closed to 11pm when usually can leave at 5.30pm. i have not much complain except that me and my friends we were really tempted to just cancel our off.

after cg on friday went to meet up with weiming to catch wolverine. the movie did not really live up to expectation but well after all is just an introduction kind of movie. hopefully the planned sequel will be better.

spend yesterday cycling with ch and bryan. prior before that spend the whole afternoon and night with my mom and bro at orchard.

won't be booking out this week because of the exercise. long week...

good thing i managed to escape from lance guard. got two new drivers to replace us. counted altogether this lance guard thingy will burn up 21 weekend and the pay back is just like a max of 15 offs which is so not worth it. don see it as a lose lose situation since i already have some plans which would make it difficult for me to participate in this as well.

the last time i checked i am left with 200 over working days before i officially ORD. cannot wait for it to happen. another 1 year and 1 month to go before i can really kiss goodbye to NSF life and what welcome me on the other side of the fence is NS men life.

service today was splendid. a whole new refreshing way to present a sermon. must say rev steve munsey has a unique way to connect with the congregation and get them indulge in the word of God. i am so looking forward to see him back in church again.

after svc went back home. along the way saw shang who was there with his parents for the svc. managed to catch up with him when i found out something that kindda startle me. guess it will be a great discussion and open talking when i find some time out to meet him.

there is something that have been stirring in my heart for some time hopefully it won't be a huge problem given my nature of letting things develop at its own.

after men's conference at jurong west went to NTU with the guys who had lunch there. guilty as charged. very long never meet them up so is quite a refreshing time immersed in their presence.

after lunch shang dropped us at bishan where spent the an hour or so there just wandering ard before all of us head to our different destination. went to orchard to get my manga while waiting for dan to reach.

abt 5 plus decided to jus cramp van's birthday celeb into the whole evening. went to look for a nice cake which fit her criterias. not an easy find thank God dan was there to accompany as well to look for it. in the end decided on the first choice.

head to sushi tei for dinner. i think we spend a great time there. but i had a very unpleasant dinner there. guess there was something wrong with the food. i have been patronising there for very long and nv once after a hearty meal there would i have rash over the choice of seafood there.

on the way home i wasn't feeling very well, upon reaching home man do i feel uncomfortable. we made plans to head down to st regis for a chill out session. but boy, the whole journey there was super bad just that i did not voice out.

well the website totally deceived me. but well it does live up to is 6 star standard though. the place had a very nice ambience. not so bad place to chill out. all of us ordered a round of drinks where we spent the later part of the day just enjoying the day and have enjoyable night.

abt 1 we left astro bar and head back to the car. somehow don't get it why the management there don't allow cutting of cake something i am still very baffle but well just got to obey the house rules. quite unusual to celeb one's birthday in the car but than again there is always something new install in one's life. but well still glad that van enjoy herself!

drove them back before i tucked myself into bed to really rest up. because as the night drew to a closed i was very sick.

had some plans today but had to cancel them one by one. well is kindda bad time to contract fever. woke up today feeling quite weak. i don deny i did suspect did i contracted swine flu with this deadly or not so deadly flu (well neither can the expert make up their mind about this flu) ard.

pop pills and quarantine myself at home and a great part of the day in my room for preventive purposes. at least for now i don think is anything to do with this swine flu because i am feeling much better after a whole day rest. just got to rest up more tmrw.

sigh cannot believe it..thought that this week is gonna be a normal week. once again i am totally wrong! monday went back camp to do guard duty.

tuesday spend the morning doing some refresher course for raiden. got arrow to attend a stupid meeting which i have no clue what they are talking abt. however spent the night with my seniors who are closing in to their ord date. while we were out received news that we got to all buy thermometer because of the current swine flu. thank God i insist of not buying since i had one at home if not i would have waste my money.

cannot believe it at 1.30am we were rudely woken up whom suspect are either the police or MP.
apparently someone from 41 took cab back to camp and handed a super duper fake $50 to the cab driver. and of course it created alot of trouble for us. heard from my sergeant today that person was apprehanded i think he can book into a nice "chalet" for the next 1 month or longer and get a free hair cut as well.

wed was asked to go down war game centre again waste my whole day there as we ended at 7.30pm. thought there was something to learn but in fact there was nth. just sit down there whole day doing nth!!! the process was much more painful than me working under the hot sun in the workshop. the worse thing is when i reached back camp i was informed i am down for guard duty on labour day!

had plans to take off on thursday and finally managed to convince my direct superior to let me take off when i receive news that all off will not be entertain because apparently there are 3 meetings schedule for me to attend.

again these are really very very unnecessary meetings. i really really hate meetings because they are super boring and almost 70% of the things mentions are things that i don really understand. now i mus really act stupid and don get myself involved in alot of things. better to keep low profile.

booked out super late at 7.30pm. because of all these meetings my plans were all scupper. next week is the last week before i head off for exercise don think is gonna be a normal week. kindda resign that the month of may is gonna be a busy month for me.

caught this 2 shows during my guard rest. "Last Chance Harvey" a movie i wanted to catch but miss the show timing. thank God nv watched it in the cinema because is not really worth a weekend tix but neither am i saying this movie is not good. this show quite not so bad average.

but this show the telling i have nth to say. at first i thought is some new show little would i know is a very very lousy show. doubt is even in the movie. kindda wasted my 1 and a half hour guard rest on this show.

training gonna be tough. i also dunno whether i really want to go for it because is gonna be tough and it will burn up alot of our weekend. plus my superior are not happy that we got selected. unless they tried and help pull me out i think i am more or less doom.

totally caught unaware and by surprise! wasn't prepared by this sudden event. monday 6 of us including me were called into the discussion room for a planning briefing. the moment my name was mentioned, i knew it..something i hate most!!

this whole week was pbh week and is straight after a tiring outfield! practically everyday did not have enough rest working all the way to 11 - 12 plus and getting up early to start touching up the plans here and there.

basically i just hate doing all this planning. because firstly is super boring having to sit there and dunno wad are they talking abt, 2ndly there will always be ppl breathing down your neck waiting to pounce on you when you cannot deliver the stuffs on time.

super glad that is the end of pbh and back to normal life next week unless they spring another surprise. was so tired took monday morning off so i can really rest up before heading back to camp in the afternoon to prepare for guard duty.

on thursday because finished my stuffs early decide to sacrifice some sleep time to catch this show before my friend delete it. wanted to catch it but did not. some of my bunk mates that caught this show kept on raving that is quite a good show. indeed quite a nice show did not waste my 2hrs.

spend most of time at home. spend the late afternoon and evening exercising. went cycling with ch to burn some calories. been a very long time since we went cycling.

the night smell so sweet with manchester united blitz passs tottenham with 5 2nd half goals. vintage display. the championship is going to retain in manchester united trophy cabinet!!

finally exercise over. prior before tuesday exercise i wanted to slp real early because i had a tough time sleeping on sunday. someone called me at 4.20am caused me to toss and turned on my bed.

little would i know while i was at branch trying to finish up my previous work my major gave me new work to do. in the end stayed in branch till 12 plus trying to finish up. had very little rest because the next day had to wake up early to prep my vehicle.

boy was it a hot day on tuesday and that is not the worst..when most of the bronco had made their way to the exercise ground i was out at the parade square under the hot sun changing battery because the signaller forgotten to switch off the master switch. as a result i was sweating like mad even before the exercise started.

injure my fingers while changing the battery. but the good thing is i only joined them in the afternoon and i managed to get a quick bath. upon reaching the site, had a quick lunch, rest up for a little while before heading off for navigation exercise.

seriously by the end of the first day i was super tired. moved out at 5 plus with not much instructions. drove ard trying to find out own way to the final destination which is on the other end of the map. initially is was really quite fun trying to navigate ourself to the place. but as we drove longer and "holland" in all the different place the enthusiasm slowly turned to a painful agony.

along the way saw some of the new areas. frankly is quite fun getting lost and trying to find our own way to the final destination. but driving 5-6 hours straight is no joke no fun. plus got to eat alot of sand, bronco is stuffy and you lose your focus and concentration as the hours dragged by. in the end we were saved by one of the LTA. did not managed to consumed dinner because we only reach the place at 10 plus. nice excuse when the conducting blamed it on the vehicle commander which i think is a total rubbish.

next we had to convoy back to original site which took us another 2 hour plus. on the way back i was kindda feeling a bit of car sick. crazy day by the time we get to go and rest was already nearing 1 and had to wake up at 6.30 to consume breakfast. seriously bmt is much better than this because you get to have at least 6 hours/7 hours of rest.

thank God i got a fantastic vehicle commander. a sergeant from another branch whom i know. very nice guy. made the whole exercise quite pleasant with no much trouble.

2nd day we had to move out to another place. because of the rain i guess we move out later for navigation exercise. previous night we were promised that no more navex. but because the conducting screw things up we had to do it again.

this time i am pair with a 2nd LTA. thank God even though i really fair super badly at reading maps but i made it up with trying to remember all the routes that we took the previous night. 2nd day route was different but first part of the route i was given and trusted solely to bring us there safely before he took over the middle part and leaving the final part to me. guess i impressed him as he suggested he want to partner me again for the night navex which did not happened.

practically 2nd day quite slack because upon reaching the site did nothing much because commander were having meeting. at night i was asked to do guard duty. sigh had my slp disrupted once again as i was badly lacking of sleep.

3rd day which is also the final day had to convoy out with some vehicle for a tactical exercise. cannot believe it lor. i did not know it was a tactical ex only thought that need to drive and chop chop reach the place. i was wrong! about 30 - 45 mins into the journey saw one person exiting the bronco to throw up. soon we had to do a tactical halt for 2 hours in the middle of nowhere. sigh..tiring day.

finished the exercise in time for lunch before learning how to set up tech cp. alot of things to do. that palce full of mosquitos. in the end i ended up as the champion for killing 10 mosquitos. during evening we moved out to go and washed the vehicle.

cannot believe it had to wash the vehicle overnight from 8pm to 8am. sigh i have nth much to say. jus glad that the exercise had ended and looking forward to finish another exercise next month before i can safely kiss goodbye to local exercise for the year and just prepare for year end oversea exercise.

went for make up cg on friday. was late for half an hour because had to stay back in office to finish up my work for my major. thought i need to OT for hours. really thank God that my senior actually accompany me and helped me with my work. very touched by his gesture because that day we did not have lunch, lack of slp and usually he will booked out fast because he need to meet his gf. but he actually sacrificed everything accompany me.

finally my parents decided and paid for the new car. changing the harrier for nissan murano a 3.3litre car. don really see why we need another huge car for wad. but well i have no say as long as my parents happy ok already since i also don't fork out a single cent. but quite glad that my parents got me to participate in the decision making. i was quite reluctant to go for test drive that day because my wrist was hurting badly and my feet after outfield was bleeding. but my dad want me to go do the test drive and give my 1 cent worth of comment so i had not much choice but go with them.

at least i can say this car is definately much better than the harrier. nt that i got alot of chances to drive it. after which go see the necessary docs. let down ch alot because planned some stuffs with him but because i nv get back to him he was frustrated. got to change in this area.

don feel like going back camp because tmrw is another busy day. got alot of unfinish work that need to be finish asap. guess i gonna try to apply off on friday.

cannot believe it lor..got a call from my bro at australia. ever since i checked out that apple product in australia is so much cheaper than singapore i have been asking him to help me get a 32gb itouch which cost aussie 548 dollar. so when he told me that he was at this particular departmental store and apple is offering a 10% discount i pounced on the chance and got him to get it for me immediately.

got it for slightly less than aussie 500 dollar. abt 100 plus cheaper compared to singapore. it was an astute purchase. although i still got to wait till june before he comes back but is definately a great buy.

spend the late afternoon going out with my mom at orchard area.

caught shinjuku incident. wanted to catch this show for some time but my family could not find any time to watch until today. spend some quality mother son time together.

as usual we got to talk to one another intimately with no barrier over dinner at sushi tei. usually we would not talk much or go into details with regards to our future and life. so i really love spending time like this.

probably tmrw gonna go to tamp shop with my mom before heading down to the new mall at tamp.

originally i was supposed to have guard duty on monday but decided to change with someone else because i was simply too tired. did guard duty on tuesday instead. during all the guard rest about 80% of the time i was actually watching these shows.

just saw the papers that this movie is out on sneak preview. quite a nice movie at least better than killshot. liam neeson sounded so cool when he made the above statement. a movie worthy to watch.

well street kings i can't say it is a very nice movie but it does have an unexpected ending.

final movie for the day was kung fu panda. quite a so so movie. well initially wanted to catch wall.e but the whole movie is like watching silent movie. i have no idea whether is there dialogue but anyway after 11 mins i was totally turned off.

naturally i was super tired on wed. but i dunno wad kept me going the whole day because i was so busy and i did not really complain much.

caught this movie yesterday evening at the new mall in bugis with ch. this movie is not very fantastic but both of us went to catch it purely for the cars. at least is worth $6 and not the norm $10. filmgarde cinema actually quite not so bad and in my opinion much better than gv. spend the rest of the night out with him and catching up.

because i rebooted my com, spend yesterday night doing up my com. finally is abt 90% completed. woke up early to cont doing it and also because i did not wanted to go for lunch at my aunt house i had to go and help out with opening the shop. no complains here.

served today. i think by far today is one of the most challenging service. first service i had prob dealing with the new config on director board and trying to register it in my mind. i think first svc kindda screw it up but thank God that 2nd svc went by smoothly.

can't wait for ftx to be over next week and book out.

thank God that as of today i have cleared my building fund. now i can focused on paying off my dad and at the same time save up and invest on something else.

this morning woke up very early. don have much idea why nowaday during the weekend will wake up so early. probably gotten use to army lifestyle. well do my usual stuffs by reading the papers the first thing in the morning before having lunch.

got a surprise from my mom that my dad wanted to go and look at some suv. practically spend the half a day at various show rooms.

went to volkswagon first to take a look at their tiguan (if i nv remember wrongly). the 2.4litre car look spacious but the price don't seem to fit in the budget cause it cost a whooping i think close to $200,000. spend quite some time there without even test driving the vehicle because my parents did not fancy it.

move over to kah motors to take a look at honda crv which cost $102,000. my dad had initially wanted to get this suv. first time go for a test drive. is just normal driving to me. but i must admit one thing though my first visit to all these show room really enlighten me as well as give me more knowledge abt cars. i thought my dad wanted to buy this car already but than decide to view more cars before making his final decision.

went over to borneo motor next.

above is the new lexus rx350 which was launched in singapore mid feb this year. looked at the interior!! this delightful piece of art cost $156,ooo.

this is the old lexus rx400 hybrid which cost at a cut price of $146,000. because the new lexus rx450 hybrid will be launching this may the old model is going at a cheap price which seem to lure alot of potential buyer. however the interior is 95% similar to my current toyota harrier.

have yet to take a look at the new hybrid but i think my dad will be going down for the launch next month and it cost $178,000. the new hybrid is 95% like the 2009 rx350 but performance wise much better.

managed to get a test drive on both vehicle. for the first time i get to know more abt hybrid car and non-hybrid. no doubt hybrid cars have more punch and power plus the added bonus is it is more pro fuel saving consumption. after test driving both vehicle i have totally condemn parallel import cars. although it is much cheaper compare to the original model but it definately lose out in terms of stability.

both lexus rx have better stability and definately the comfort level is up there to high end cars. a whole different dimension. like what my parents said yi fen qian yi fen huo. a total different class. if a original model is place with a parallel import the parallel import fail with comparison.

next we went to audi show room. my current favourite brand.

this is the new audi Q5. this exquisite piece of beauty cost $167,000. although we did not physically seen this car yet as it has yet to reach singapore and its launching date is in 20 days. the things they give for this car is definately better than lexus.

we initially head down to audi show room because i wanted to test drive audi r8. ok i am kidding. i think those sales executive would not even allow my finger print to stain the car. i wanted to do a test drive on the audi tt thats the reason why we headed to audi show room.

upon reaching there we decided to inquire more abt the new audi Q5. Q5 is quite similar to lexus rx. but is definately cheaper. 2 litres suv road tax each year cost 1.1k and is pro fuel saving.

at the end did not get to test drive audi tt but my dad say we will go do a test drive when Q5 is launch in singapore. don't think i will ever lay my hand on a audi tt yet but there is not much of a harm test driving one.

although we did not get any of the above mentioned suv because my dad is still pondering which to get. but i have learnt alot from today field trip. learning abt omv, parf, so many abt cars a knowledge that will last me for very long. i am quite positive that now honda crv is definately out of the equation because another $40k - $70k would get a much better suv which not only guarantee better performance but also top class comfort.

most likely is just a battle btw lexus and audi for my dad right now.

the pic above i think is something call lance guard. i've been selected as one of the 5 to represent armour unit to be a lance guard for the national day parade. there is a final round of selection to go next week but i think i will just fail the selection.

being a lance guard probably is quite an honor but the amount of time one burn on a sat is not a laughing matter even though they will give you off but i think is still not very worth it. now i must try harder to failed the final selection since my first attempt did not work.

hopefully i don't change my mind or anything about this matter.

caught killshot during guard rest which will be hitting the cinema in mid june if i nv remember wrongly. spend another quality time with my camp mates doing our favourite pass time. the movie is just so so not a very fantastic movie and definately not worth wasting money catching in the cinema.

real glad that guard duty for this month is just 2 points!!! i cannot believe it! 2 weekday guard duty only for this month. hopefully this will continue throughout my army life. this is the ONLY good thing that my brigade csm has done so far.

i think is really a dumb thing to revoke guard rest because as usual i was super tired after a night of guard duty. did not really had much strength to last the whole day at the workshop to do my vehicles. thanksfully the ic was in a gd mood we had the afternoon to rest and relax.

evening during nights out went to catch this chick flick with my branch sgt. he is a really very nice guy. always out of the blue buy me honey red bubble tea. this time round he even treated me to this movie which i promised him last week to catch it but got to go home to get some stuffs for the turnout drill.

this movie is by far one of the better movie. even though is a chick flick but it is packed with laughter. a recommanded movie.

wed caught this movie because my friend wanted to catch this horror movie decide to go and watched together with them since i promised him earlier. this movie not so bad but nt very scary although there are some scene where my hairs would be standing. was actually very tired wanted to slp early to really recurperate and to cure the tiredness that linger since monday. in the end, after finishing a game of scrabble a game that we are very hook on at the moment went to catch this movie. think i did fairly well this time.

thursday i was pulled into discussion room. before the meeting, i was officially announced as the new guy that will take over and handling the brigade fund in future. so right now i am juggling dual role in camp. being a combat driver and also a finance guy. when this decision was announced to my direct superior he was stunned.

i believed that i was pulled into the discussion room because he have more or less already target me to be the next ic. he was obviously not being consulted and therefore he was stunned. not that i have a choice to make. but if possible i wouldn't mind playing 3 roles being a combat driver cum driver IC cum finance side. but look like i won't be able to be the vehicle/driver oic.

after discussion, my branch major whom we call S4 surprised us with desserts. something that is very very uncommon. what i feel is that because we have a couple of exercises coming up and the next 2 months will be very very busy for us thats why he want to treat us and in a way prep us for these 2 months. well again is jus my assumption. feel so bless in brigade.

probably today when my parents come home maybe tempt them to go catch the new jackie chan's show.

found out that apple stuffs in australia is slightly cheaper as compared to singapore. gonna get my itouch soon instead of my propose plan since the economy is slowly showing signs of recovery. must strike while the market is still in a limbo and the exchange rate is still low.

was out with my dad to collect the bicycle last sat when he mention abt going for a test drive. i can't remember the honda model. if is possible probably tmrw gonna go test drive if he has yet to go. gonna do some morning exercises as well. hopefully no recall back to camp. jus wanna take a gd rest before going back to camp on monday to start my first guard duty of the month.

caught transporter 3 last week. jason statham got a really knockout body. as usual the cars will always grab my attention. i am a fan of audi. i think their cars are getting better and definately the design have improve alot to capture the market audience.

injured my wrist quite badly last week. over the weekend went to buy my weights which cost me over 100 plus. can't really carry weights yet due to my injury.

went back to camp on sun morning for guard duty. last week was the start of my guard duty. during guard rest caught this movie. this movie will probably entertain the younger crowd but definately not a great movie for any young adult.

had a HQ cohesion on monday. went to chevron for lunch, k, arcade, bowling. seriously i suck big time in bowling. not really my kind of game although i won't mind going to bowl and probably make a fool of myself.

prior before that my juniors enlist for their first day in brigade. was tasked to show them around brigade. after 5 days with them i have more or less identify who are the slacker and who are the more better one. with their arrival it would also mean that my seniors whom i have developed a close friendship with are gonna ord in 2 months.

went to nearby IMM for dinner and shop around before heading back to camp to slp since i did not have much rest because of guard duty.

this week we had a brigade turnout and probably this is the toughest and busiest time i ever experience in brigade. seriously i am feeling very worn out and very tired. everyday was spend in the workshop working in the morning till late evening.

tuesday was kinda bad day because while guiding the vehicle i wasn't sharp enough and cause the vehicle to hit the workshop enick car. burnt a huge hole need to pay for the damages.

night time was spent catching this show. critics gave high reviews. thought it will be one of those very scary pulsating show only to be seriously disappointed. indeed my bro was right, is not a very fantastic movie.

wed rushed back home to get some stuff which was missing from my item for the brigade turnout. another tiring day not only jus packing my own stuffs but actually doing op preps.

had guard duty on thursday. had quite a little issue with guard duty. in the end the things was solve but it forge a great deal of negative impression. spend the night watching this movie which i really wanted to watch. is really a nice heart warming show. made me wanna get a pet dog as well. play a little round of scrabble to test my level of vocab. actually i don think my vocab is that fantastic.

morning i was super drain. weather was hot and i was seriously lacking of slp. had to do the brigade turnout which did not end until lunch time. had to be in full battle order by 6.30am which is crazy.

finally knew the objective why there is a turnout because we are now an active camp. so we need to show our readiness. sigh which means more sai kang and more work. don think brigade life is gonna be easier anymore.

i am thankful that my superior and my senior really see me as one of the go to guy. right now i am one of the 2 guys being considered to take over as the vehicle ic. somehow is already confirm is btw me and my friend. also my branch major specifically mention that he wants me to take over the job as a finance spec.

this is the 3rd time it has happened in the short space of 4 months. ever since i came back from my various courses, a ord senior once ask his branch warrent to recruit me to their branch which my direct captain rejected because he wanted me to stay in the branch.

now according to my senior he does not want to let me go and take up the job of finance spec because i am one of the guy that will work and i am one of the 2 that he is still deciding whom to name as the next vehicle ic.

now even my branch major wants me. thankful for the recognition. is not a bad thing after all. it jus means that people really recognise the effort i put in.

it has been confirm that on april i will be down for a full troop ex. something i dread because i was hoping i can skip it but there is no way i can skip. there goes the weekend. ex DA will be the next one in may another weekend being burn.

seriously i don see myself getting any "free-ier". things in brigade is gonna be busy, busier. everyday it will be bustling with life.

gotta catch up with my sleep. my agenda for monday have already been drawn up by my captain today. there are more things to settle. wanted so much to take off to really really rest up. very exhausted for probably the last couple of weeks. but my request have been rejected because i have work to do. the only thing i can look forward to is hopefully i am able to take half day off on tuesday to go catch "The Winter's Tale" with my branch finance spec and spend the rest of the day just resting before going back to camp at night.

keeeping my finger cross that there won't be alot of work on tuesday.

i have realised probably the last month or 2 i have been spending more time at home than being out wiht my friends. life have been jus with my family, my computer, my books, doing exercise and of cos sleeping. i think got to fork out a little bit more time for the individual.

i dunno just that recently i just feel like actually spend more time at home doing my stuffs and catching up on the things that i have not been doing for a long time. gonna finish my book very soon and can start on the next book by probably tmrw.

tmrw got to wake up early spend the early morning hitting town with my mom and bro to look see look see at some stuffs. doubt i gonna get anything in town. need to start saving money $$$ because my ipod of 4 years finally gave up on me. currently eyeing on a 16gb itouch. but there are other stuffs that i wanna get as well.

as such i have decide to commit at least $50 into my metal tin box every month till i manage to save up the require amt to get a 16gb itouch.

now how i wish that $ will be readily available to me so that i need not fret abt money issue.

caught the punisher on thursday, very gory movie. earlier the day drove ard singapore to get some stuffs. went to alot of places that i have nt been before. at the same time i get to spend the whole day with my seniors and encik. fantastic grp of people i must say. at night went to orchard to meet up the grp again before heading back to camp to watch show. i was super tired because i woke up early to catch the man u inter match.

friday..look forward to booking out. needed to recuperate at home. sigh kena cheated on friday to enter planning room again for this top secret meeting. i think i am actually not needed inside there. caused me to book out late on friday sigh.

really very tempeted to watch this play. the date is very near and i haven't decide whether to catch it anot. the price is quite steep as well but this play have been getting rave reviews. a negativity is i will most likely catch this play alone since i doubt many are willing to part with 70 - 100 for a play. i think next week i need to confirm whether to catch this once in a lifetime show from a winning academy director. tempted to get an extra ticket and shove it to anyone who wanna accompany me.

went out with ch and van today. wanted to get an external hard disk but because of the massive crowd i was super turn off. decide to jus borrow one and reboot my com. rushed back home to catch united vs pool match.

my jubilant was cut short when liverpool equalised 4 mins aft man u got the lead. totally aghast with today performance. a night of joy for all the liverpool fan and they are obviously soaking up to it as my phone kept buzzing aft the final whistle. don't want to be a sore loser, can't rob them off their night. but one thing i am pretty sure of is at the end of the season MANCHESTER UNITED will STILL be the CHAMPION of england. tmrw must start to siam a few ppl alr who will wanna gloat and rub it in how united let in 4 poor goals!!

tmrw gonna head to parkway parade go and get some new weights aft cg.

super well ahead of my financial goal. i think my mom was amazed when she came back from melbourne how much i have in my bank. i must say God is good and i was discipline enough to spend my money wisely. look like i will be able to completely finance my debt by this year. beside BF is coming to an end. looking back this is the best BF in my 7 years in church.

officially i will be transfered over to another team in my ministry. see this whole process as a compliment and also a chance to see how far have i really progress in the ministry. learnt alot from my previous leader whom i really looked up to because he taught me alot and he was the one that play a big part in my life and see me through ever since the first day i was in this ministry. i can say God is good to me by giving me a fantastic leader.

caught this show in camp yesterday. went to lot 1 for a quick dinner before heading back to camp to rest and catch this movie. quite a nice comedy as usual with every seann william scott film. can't remember him featuring in any serious show.

back home today because i got a very good friendship and working relationship with my seniors. really thank God because i get to be dispatch out to do stuffs. basically they really took care of me and also ensure that i am part of the good things.

gonna do some things for my camp tmrw thus get to stay out today and return back tmrw. wanted to take half day off to catch man u vs inter tmrw morning. however they saved me from wasting half day off.

gonna pick up my seniors and head for breakfast before setting out to get our tasks done. probably gonna go do morning PT before leaving house to meet them.

always wanted to grow facial hair but very lazy to do it. now in army make it tougher since we are not allow to leave. gonna painfully trim it and secretly grow it and see wad is the result. orlando bloom do have nice facial hair.

caught these 2 movies this week before i head to bed. as such i was was super tired because i was lacking of slp. beside prior before that we had more bonding session together playing bang. i think the wrestler is quite a gd movie no wnoder it helped to resurrect mickey rourke career. i can't say the same for you don't mess with the zohan though thank God i did not pay a single cent to catch this movie last year it would be a waste of money.

did the usual stuffs back in camp. nth much to comment abt life in camp.

bought a new ear piece. i this new ear piece from audio techinca is much better than my previous ear piece which my senior make spoil. fame for their audio clarity and fit to the ear design i think it was a good buy.

went to the gym on wed again. learn something from my senior. i think i got to up the weights that i am carrying. i want to train and my arms bigger. quite satisfy with the workout at gym. gonna make every wed gym session in camp.

first time in the planning room to start prep for the upcoming local exercise. seriously i have not a single ounce of clue what they are discussing. always end up being clueless whenever they ask me to participate in such things.

from march onwards can see myself being busy. a propose bronco road licence and also me and my another friend are trainer to teach the whole branch how to use a programme which i kindda forgotten how to use.

this week my sgt confirm something. my branch major whom we refer to as S4 approve me being my finance spec understudy which means that he trust me at the same time a minimum rank of CFC if nt in house promotion to being a spec. however there are alot of things that i have to seriously consider before i can give my final ans. kindda hit a rut. something that is quite vexing me.

my seniors introduce us a new card game call "Bang". seriously is a nice game and quite addictive. is a very tactical game. really need to put on thinking cap and play very seriously. instead of watching movies we have been in our senior bunk playing this game.

tuesday went to orchard with a couple of my seniors to look at psp and also just hang out.

wednesday night was spend in the gym carrying weights. thank God for fantastic friends. usually when we go work out or exercise a whole lot of us will go together. because of this can slowly see results. now starting to attack on my 2nd goal for the year 2009. so far this year have started on the right track with me still going strong with the goals that i planned for the year.

thursday went out with a grp of the guys to lot 1 for a quick dinner before heading back to camp.

friday morning had to wake up early as me and my senior were the time keeper for this event call armor road relay. travel to gedong. actually i have this secondary post for like a month plus. get to see a different side of the regulars. alot of them are actually very nice person.

yest supposed to catch last chance harvey sigh in the end because of me actually missed the show. since at orchard so decide to chill at starbucks located outside of pacific plaza with van. it seems like i very long nv see my friends already. hardly been spending time with them as well.

afternoon was spend at orchard with my army friends. did not really do much as well.

right now all i can think of is melbourne. it seems like everybody in my branch are talking abt where they will be heading in june.

early booked out today. went for home visitation at whampoa. seriously i thank God. i think so far my stay at brigade i got a very good friendship with my seniors. my spec ask me whether i want to be his understudy and also my IC also want me to stay in the branch.

somethings happen yest as such my commander wanted to decentralise us whereby 4 guys will have to go over to signal side. this decision will definately affect us very badly because i don wish to go over. actually i feel that my chances of staying in this branch is quite high since i got quite gd feedbacks from my seniors.

this week my mom and bro flew to melbourne. she will be there for like 2 weeks plus. made my way down to the airport on tuesday. had dinner with my mom at crystal jade shanghai cuisine which is ok ok only. won't be seeing my bro until june when i fly over with my dad and twin bro.
decide to also spend more time at home since my mom is not at home.

most likely will be renting a car and drive down to sdyney or something. got to plan everything well when the day come. maybe just maybe can have the opp to fly SQ. i have so much things that i wan to do in australia so i kindda look forward to it. this trip is more or less confirm unless my brigade don't free me.

badly injure my left thigh after a game of soccer. affecting the way i walked. sucking up the pain. this coming tuesday there will be IPPT. i wanna skip it since i am nt in the right condition to run. next week is gonna be another busy week got to run to a couple of different camps to do some stuffs.

have this conversation and i feel wad is there to be so concern about. have than have don't have than don have. not like i am in a hurry or anything. beside it leaves me being very focus on the stuffs that i wan to achieve.

had this very interesting conversation with van yest and i was made aware of something new. i think i can agree to a certain extent to what we talked abt yest. i think ever since i enlisted into army i think this is the fittest me i have ever seen couple with something that happen last year made me decide to just change the way i look at things and the way i carry myself.

in addition to what we talked abt, i think because as i grow older become more wise i feel that $ is no longer a worrying problem. i dunno maybe as i grow older starting to feel my spending power increase as well but i am not saying that i am a spendthrift or anything.

yesterday had a second round of celebration at waraku at marina square. thing is the previous day i was jus going through the pictures taken over the past years when i came across the photos last year. it reminded how my best friends in church jason, yh and ch actually took time to come and celeb with me.

as i was making my way out, i was thinking sigh this year very diff because nv get to celeb my birthday with them. for me i don really have much time to meet up with jason and yh since we are in a diff cg so usually my birthday is always somehow the 1st meet up for us every year.

little would i know the surprise is all my super duper good friends were invited to come for the dinner. though as usual i spoil the surprise but moment i step out of waraku to go use the gents i was shock to see shang, yh, jason, mel, hx, jieqi all waiting outside. gordon joined us a bit later. seriously i nv expect to see them since all say like no time.

spend the remaining night at esplanade. i have known this guys for 5 - 9 years. jason made a remark during our conversation "pak si buay zhao" which is quite true. these are the friends that really impacted me in my 7 years in church and no matter how hard the beating i will also not leave church because of the friendship and relationship that we have foster.

i am nt the best of friends but i am super blessed with wonderful friends like them which spur me to give my utmost best to the friendships.

really need to thank a few ppl for making my 22nd a memorable one..

recently i also dunno why so busy in camp. understand that there are a few vehicles that me and my friends need to service. other than that i think is all the sai kang that we have to do. don remember that i had much time to actually go work out this week. either i will retire early or catch a movie in camp with my seniors.

managed to catch "Changeling" really a superb movie. really like clint eastwood movies alot. i think he is a fantastic actor/director. next day watch "Rock n Rolla" and "Body of Lies" but in the end also nv finished watching because half way i was so tired i decide to go to bed.

had a busy day on friday. book out very late as well because had some unfinished work in camp. applied off on mon but i think my off will be cancel because tmrw got outfield ex. and we are lacking of drivers.

straight after i booked out went for make up cg before i went down to meet my mom to go holland v together to collect the cake i ordered. was giving some suggestions to my friend who bought a cake from there as well after talking to me. nv tried the cake from coldrock before but according to my family they say is nice even though i did not tried it yet.

spend the night with my gd friends chai huat, dan and van at introbar and city space at swisstotel. enjoy my night there just that the time we spend there was short. regretted not going there early.

initially they wanted to celeb my birthday at city space instead of introbar but because there were no available tables at city space, dan and van changed their plans and settle for introbar.

i was surprised because me and ch was still pondering what drinks to order when at 12 the manager of introbar emerge with a cake from prego. apparently they made arrangement with the manager to bring the cake out at 12.

straight after we order the manager from city space called and told us there was a table available. so we decided to down our drinks fast so we can make our way to city space.

made our way to the top level of swisstotel where city space is located. it is highly commendable, the sceneries provided there are first class. the beautiful skyline is accompanied by soothing live music.

once we reached there this jazz singer who look like jacintha sang a birthday song for me. another arrangement made by the lovely manger there. had another round of drinks with the group before leaving the place at 2.

so far really had a memorable 22th birthday...

just came back from a birthday lunch with my family at tung lok at paramount. soon got to head out again for dinner.

caught this 3 movies yesterday during my guard rest. i was actually dying to catch slumdog millionaire when it hit the theatre. however after watching it yest i am thankful that i did not waste my money. don think this show is worth my $10. however this show is average not so bad.

caught the curious case of benjamin button on friday. rush down to lido to catch it with dan and van. if i am one of the judge on the oscar panel, this movie would definately get the nod for best picture.

brad pitt is so suave in the movie. seriously i totally love that movie alot. i am very tempted to get the dvd when it is out. although this movie may not be able to recoup all the money spent but is really a great movie.

there were a few scene where brad pitt and cate were riding the bike. i kindda made up my mind to go learn how to ride a bike. was talking to my camp mate that during june or so we will go take our bike theory lesson and from there go learn how to ride bike. even though i know my parents will disapprove but i think is quite cool to drive that retro/classic bike.

super tired after guard duty. however i am quite surprise i actually enjoy my guard duty for the first time probably because yest we had 5 ppl doing and all of HQ form up the 15 guards which kindda ensure that the moments were not dull.

managed to fulfill my goal for the month of jan. now that we are in feb quite sure can fulfill my goals as well. i think this fri probably when i book out or something i will go and get this pair of shoes that i saw with ch last week. kindda like it.

looking forward to this coming long weekend since i took off on monday.

made the decision to order a ice cream cake from cold rock online for my dad's birthday since ice cream chef at my place don sell cakes.

caught the reader with my family last week. is a very nice movie.

back in camp this week caught these 2 movies. thanks to my senior i am now able to catch up with the past movies. movies that i wanted to watch. passengers has a story plot where one will never expect and will only realised it towards the end of the show. bolt super funny show.

moment we start our movie screening, people will start streaming into the bunk and join us. however on wed our csm caught someone bringing in pirated dvd so there goes our tv. no more privilege. was quite sian because it would mean back to the mundane life in camp.

however thanks to my senior can cont to watch the tv when he requested for permission to have the tv relocated to our branch office which means we get to enjoy the aircon and the sofa.

been so busy in brigade. monday had to make a trip to IMM to settle some stuffs for the officers CNY celeb. moment we reached back camp it was abt time for me to start doing guard duty.

next day have to prepare everything for the CNY celeb which made me feel like i have been very made use of by one of my capt. don really think he treat us like human.

wed was spend doing day guard and than 1 hour in the gym follow by running in the stadium. thursday spend the whole morning in the workshop doing some vehicles before spending the next half waiting for my turn to get a hair cut before going back to bunk to wait for nights out.

went to ps carl's jr with my senior and some of the spec from another branch. really enjoy
spending time with them. i think we been quite a strong influence to one another. out of the 10 of us we only had 3 smokers in the grp. however this week all 3 quit smoking. well although they quit smoking like 2 days but than is already a fantastic achievement.

been trying very hard to get them to quit smoking. well they took the first step believe that a little more time soon they will stop smoking.

was reading the newspaper today when my senior made it known to us that ipod touch going at 15% discount. on thursday we were at ps looking at the ipod touch. he was thinking of getting an ipod touch for his girlfriend as valentine gift. seriously i am very tempted to buy the 32gb ipod touch since my ipod giving me some prob.

decided against to buy since i need to save up and pay off my debts. probably later this year when i clear my debt i will consider buying.

have to head back to camp tmrw morning for guard duty again. feeling quite sian and tired. but i am also very tempted to catch the curious case of benjamin button tonight. still haven't decide whether to go and watch.

facing a prob whether to order a cold rock cake online or to make a trip down to holland v right now to take a look.

next week got to go either gedong or go outfield ex. i hope i don get dispatch for outfield ex rather go gedong to lowload vehicle than to suffer outfield. another long week for me next week.

caught the sneak preview of bride wars with van last sun. reckon that i shld not waste my CNY away since i had to be back in camp for guard duty on CNY. man anne hathaway is so pretty in the movie. she is probably the biggest reason why i am i catching most of her show. well bride wars definately trump rach getting married. back in camp i was talking with my friend abt this show and he agreed that it was a great movie as well.

straight after the movie we headed to starbucks at pacific plaza since it was the only outlet in orchard area that is opened for 24hrs. only left the place at 6 plus.

monday was a very sian day for me. the thought of having to go back camp at night really sour my mood. i mus say this year i really don't enjoy CNY.

tuesday was spend doing guard duty with my friends.

wednesday i was disapatch out of camp to help out with the team that is going to india with the loading of bronco. went to jurong port after lunch. practically i was there for 12 straight hours and only reached back camp at 1am!!

i must say that this is a very good exp. first time i get to exp how to load the bronco onto a cargo ship. first time entering a port and i think that is the furthest you can drive in singapore since the road sign reads jurong port (end). get to board a cargo ship for the first time and use their toilet which smell like the latrine on board an airline.

basically is a whole new exp. the only part that i hated was the brief wait from mayb 3 plus to 4 or 5 plus doing nth and also they nv indent my dinner. only managed to have dinner at 1am. but i must say all the sgt and encik really treated me very nice keep on asking me drink water since the weather is very hot and even went to get a bottle of drink for me.

despite that i won't mind going there again when those bronco arrive back in march or may.

thursday..i was half hoping that i get to wake up late since i reached camp super late the previous day. but nope still woke up at the same time. did not feel energetic the whole day because of the lack of rest. but thank God that day had to help BTO go check out some stuffs for officer's CNY celeb. got to book out at 2pm.

head down to akira warehouse and IMM to get our things done. was supposed to go to carl's jr for dinner but because my good friend had a change of heart wanted to head back to camp early so after getting all the things done we had dinner at IMM before heading back to camp at 7pm.

spend a gd 10 - 15 mins in office to check out our guard duties for the month of feb. wah for the first time i only have 2 weekdays and 1 weekend guard! however i heard this coming month is just a rest period for us. which is like huh...means march onwards is guard duties siao again. moment i reached bunk, bathe, waited for one msg and i was fast asleep only for the rest who book in at 11 to disturb my slumber.

skip life run today since i have a secondary appointment and that is to be a time keeper. thank God that my senior help me. wasn't feeling very well since my last guard duty on sat and also my body giving some weird signal on the first day of CNY. with this unofficial appointment i was able to take it easy this week with no life run at all!

book out at 11am for cohesion. had lunch at crystal jade at jurong point with my branch office people followed by a movie session.

actually i did not really want to catch any of the local shows this year because i think not very nice. but as usual CNY period don't offer great shows. i won't say that it was a good movie but as usual like all jack neo's movie it provide a great deal of laughter.

by the time the show was over it was 4pm and we were dismiss. stayed back to hang around with a grp of my branch people shopping ard jurong point. finally managed to take a good look of the new revamp jurong point.

along the way had a discussion with my branch sgt. he is going to ord in june with my seniors and he is a finance spec. apparently right now he has no understudy and the latest name to be his understudy have been rejected by my oc. was talking to him i don mind being his understudy. don mind nt being a finance spec i can always be a finance corporal. although he has no say but than he can recommand.

now still thinking whether to throw my name in the prospect list. although i think even if i am his understudy i will still need to maintain my bronco and still carry out my primary appointment.

quite sian dunno wad is wrong with the ppl in army. apparently i supposed to be promoted right now. my BX friends have been officially promoted to LCP. right now they are trying to find out why our names were not key into the data base which is hindering our rightful promotion. because of this i am losing out alot financially. hope that they get it sorted out soon so...

i think tmrw i need to make my way down to holland v to do some stuffs.

during lunch at crystal jade my friends were suggesting that we go batam at the end of the feb for some water sports. look like most of us will be going when everything is confirm.

caught these 2 shows at my senior's bunk this week. don think "how to lose friends and alienate people" came out in singapore. anyway don think both movies are good. however megan fox look super hot in that show. wonder what my senior will air next week when he come back from his off.

this week kindda slack week in camp. monday went for nights out to get some CNY deco for my branch and some food for the pantry. went to jurong point. did not know that jurong point changed alot. was quite reluctant to go because that day i was super tired and wanted to sleep early or go shoot some hoops.

on monday we were told that only 3 vehicles will be attach for outfield exercise. however on tuesday i was inform that i need to go outfield because they needed my vehicle. was quite sian because the previous day i already arrange to go catch "changeling".

went down to the workshop to check on my vehicle only to find out that the engine might catch fire if i drive it for exercise. the other vehicle generator down so i was kindda saved! was supposed to go catch the 7pm show but my new csm sigh drag my nights out time in the end only manage to go for dinner and do some window shopping.

thursday i was dispatch out of camp to go collect stores with my senior. i think my 3rd role is to go out of camp collect stores which i don't mind because i can be out of camp. there is this warrent that we have to help. some times i really detest him and there are times he show his good side.

on thursday we reach ALB and he jus hand my ic a $50 note and asked him to get drinks for all of us. frankly not all regulars will treat men like us very good. reach back camp to change and get ready for brigade CNY celeb. quite a sian affair don really enjoy myself would have rather went for nights out.

spend the night celeb for my 2 seniors who ORD today. next i was in bunk with my other seniors catching movie and anime.

every one, three and five we have to go for life run. but on wed we had games day. played field soccer and ended up with very sore muscle aches everywhere esp on my thighs. had so much fun jus chasing after the soccer ball and putting it in the net 7 times.

like i was saying today was suppose to be interval training (speed training) something which i hate alot. but my senior helped me and i was doing timer for the grp who are training for the armour road relay. seeing them run is so jaw dropping. they had to do a 1.2km warm up run, followed by 2.2km actual run, 3 sets of 800m run around the stadium, sprint up the monster slope at the multi storey carpark which according to my encik will make ur butt look sexy and tight and lastly dunno how many set of static exercises.

i was kindda reluctant to run because i was lazy, muscle aches but than after the ARR grp finished their run me and my senior went to do our own running. after all got to keep fit. kindda inspire to be discipline to run and hit my goal.

after morning pt went to do area cleaning or rather spring cleaning which is quite a sian thing. with the arrival of the new csm, sigh..we are getting alot of things to do. i am starting to lose hope that my camp will no longer be that welfare. can remove the HQ in front of 4 SAB alr. starting to become regimental with those ppl trying to wayang their way sigh...

this year CNY is probably the worst in my 21 years!!! i have guard duty tmrw, i have to book back in on monday night so that we won't play them out for tuesday guard duty. others have long hol what do i have seriously i am quite fed up with the planning. i promise myself this will be last time such lousy planning will exist in my army life.

got some bad news from my friend that maybe next week we will still be attach out with signal coy for their outfield exercise. also if this march there is no new intake 4 of us from our batch will go to brc coy sigh...more bad news.

right now i jus can't wait to finish my guard duties.

i think i am really blessed to have really great seniors and also great bunk mates that will go thru thick and thin together with me. after 2 person move out of our bunk and in came the 2 BX guys i feel the bunk is so lively.

we play with one another alot, joke with one another alot, play prank on one another, tau pok one another basically just do things together. it would be sad to see my seniors ORD this june.

spend alot of quality time with time talking abt personal exp and our own life. somehow i don mind booking in every week to see them and to be with them.

i am someone who will sleep early especially on every monday. usually i will be lying down by 6.30pm. however on monday, my friends actually "force" me to go and play basketball with them. i don regret it because that day i guess is my toughest exercise regime yet.

morning we had to run 4.4km follow by static ex. to me the basketball is like a cohesion exercise which serve to strengthen our friendship. after basketball ran another 7 laps at the stadium. kindda look forward to this coming monday most likely going to play basketball again.

tuesday met up with van to catch rachel getting married. aww man that movie very dry and probably because is an indie movie. but i was captivated by anne hathaway performance. feel like watching milk and changeling. shall plan my time wisely. also nw it cost only 6 when i pay by nets at cine.

wed whole afternoon was spend cleaning up the stupid bunk for the muster parade. nv have the bunk been so clean mostly was done by me and my gd friend since the rest had to do their test. after the inspection we were told to clean up the toilet and my senior sneior bunk. sigh more cleaning. after the night inspection was over, challenged psp against my senior which i came up top.

thursday muster parade probably is the most sian thing in my whole army life because we had to wake up very early to draw arms and for rehearsal. stand under the hot sun for some parade. the worst thing was nights out was cancel because the brigade sgt major was not happy that we did not sing the national anthem loud and what we call "sing w/o pride".

anyway i had guard duty that so it did not really affect me. but i could feel it for the rest of the guys. evening we had this corrective regime and that is to sing with pride. signal and brc coy pass only hq fail. so they were made to fall in at 6am the next day to sing again.

failed again. did not start the year very right in brigade. on every friday we end work at 5pm and get to book out by 5.30. but that day we stayed back to sing the anthem again which we pass. had to go back to office because we had to get our report right for the last vehicle. in the end only book out at 7 plus.

today was out with my family. thank God for my mom. she bought me some stuffs which ensure that i am still on track to fulfill my financial goals for this year. been so smooth so far...my wishlist have shorten quite alot over the last couple of months.

during last week guard duty, instead of wasting time, i actually spend abt 2hrs planning my financial goals for this fiscal year. i am trying to save 4k so i can pay off my debts as well as invest on something else.

in order to achieve it i must be super discipline and keep very tight record on my spendings. kindda inspired by what sihui shared the last time i served so i am focusing. jan is coming to an edn like very soon and right now i have surpass way above what i have plan for this month. so i can safely say i shld be able to hit this month target.

caught red cliff 2 with my family today. quite a nice show although my parents don't think is nicer than part 1. along the way to the theatre, i was talking to my dad..i was asking him whether will he get me a car this year if i decide to go and study if my capt give the go ahead.

at first he was quite reluctant however after i explain my cause, he was quite ok with it and asked me to give him a detail plan of everything before he will get me my own car. of course i don't want him to buy and give it to me for free. i rather take a loan from him than to receive it free and to pay for all the expenses myself.

when i was 21, not that i am over 21 now i was hoping that i would get my 1st key. but maybe my 22th birthday might c me getting my 1st key or rather 2nd key since my hse key is the first keys.

feb i need to head down to holland v. decide that i shld get my dad a birthday cake. our birthday are not far apart just 2 days apart from one another. the other time i was there with van and ch at this ice cream shop i saw that they actually do sell ice cream cake. maybe can go there and try.

new year was spent at camp with my buddy doing guard duty. was joking abt creating my own fire works using my rifle. nonetheless we manage to hear boom boom boom while we were having our guard rest. that was the sign that 2008 had pass and hereby enter 2009.

actually i was hoping that 2008 will cont longer because it would mean a long year for me in army for 2009. but than again it means i am closer to ORD although still very long.

had my ministry thanksgiving at chjimes at this place call hog's breath cafe saloon & grill. actually i am not the kind that like to attend such thing. would rather stay home or hang out with my friends. but each year i have grown closer to my ministry and my ministry feels like my "family".

today had day guard. usually i will wake up like probably 20 mins before fall in timing. but today i especially woke up earlier to go book detail 1 so i can end my guard duty at 5.30pm and rush down for this thanksgiving dinner.

reached at 7.30 i think. must apologise to those who were trying to chat with me. because i had a fantastic seat that face the tv and it happen to be on ESPN my eyes were kindda glued to the telly since is rare for me to watch espn sport centre news. not trying to be rude or anything. so van don say i am rude or anything. make me sad sia.

kudos to the organizers. had this game call don forget praise and worship. was chosen by my team to go and play. my version would be praise and worship forget tat kwek. my song was take it all easy song but i still flopped and let my team down. it would be a miracle if i ever remember the lyrics haha. i think gurmit singh would love me on his show. because i will nv walk away with the $500,000.

overall had a splendid time with the chorus board peeps. looking forward to spending more time with them in 2009. learning and fighting fire.

i am still thinking whether to go abroad to further my studies anot after ns or stay in singapore. i think high chance after i ORD i am going to like ask my dad to loan me some cash to get a car if i decide to stay in singapore. i will get a audi tt coupe as my first car. well is kindda selfish car but than again i am the driver.

gonna wake up early and go run, do 200 crunches and 1000 weight lifting each weekend. decide to be more discipline in order to achieve my goals for 2009. read the comic strip on the paper it said what is your resolution for the year, the reply was to achieve my resolution last year. need to exercise greater discipline to achieve those goals that i set out for 2009.

actually come to think of it...being down for guard duty on the 2nd day of chinese new year is not so bad. although i hate it but than again i thank GOd that i am not doing backup for this person in camp which will always give excuses as to why he can't do guard duty. beside i get to have 1 day off which i have decided to use it on my birthday. so i can need nt be in camp for a few days and make myself free for celebration. thank God for good buddy who is willing to swap with me if i tio guard duty that day.

also this month guard duty i got 7 points!!! how in the world did this guy plan 7 points for us. 2 weekend guard duty and 3 weekday. sigh. the only plus point to this whole guard duty thing is that all my weekday guard duties are on tuesday or thursday which means that i get to skip life run the next day and i don get to go for nights out which means i get to save money.

not that i don like life run and exercise. just that in camp some time you just want to relax and do nth. beside this week everyday i have been booking out and booking in and quite taxing on my transport since i make my way to camp myself. so i am looking forward to saving more this month instead of spending alot.

remember something during my night out with weiming that day. we actually touched on the topic of ear piercing and tattoos. have always wanted to pierce my ears but than somehow or rather i always put it off.

even now i am still very tempted to do it. but than i will put it off till ns is over. i wouldn't even be surprise if i decided to do some tattoo as well. however if i do tattoo i think my mom will probably kill me or something.

as i am clearing my off this whole week, managed to catch up with some of my friends. met up with weiming on friday to catch bedtime stories at cine. on my way there saw ming jin who boarded the same bus as me. i think is quite a good movie despite the review.

after the movie, settle dinner at long john before we went over to starbucks at wheelock place. quite enjoy jus chilling out. i think starbucks at wheelock quite nice maybe because the lightings are still up. spend a couple of hours talking to wm.

been catching alot of movies recently ok not alot but quite a fair number of shows. i think i am going to watch these few movies when it come out.

sat was spent in church and also at 85.

yesterday went out with ch as he did not want to go home after serving. spend another quality time with my good friend. we basically just hang out at orchard before we make our way to starbucks at paragon before we head for home.

during our conversation, we were talking abt how faithful God is in our life. talking abt the blessing that we received. i mean this year building fund is the lowest i ever give if i nv remember wrongly. how ever this year alone i think i can possibly say is the first time i see God prospering me not just my life but also FINANCIALLY (kind of like the first time i see it so clearly for the finance part). that is why both of us very committed to fulfill our building fund.

basically i think my whole week was quite fruitful because i was able to catch up with my good friends. get to talk alot.

got to book in later before 11pm. reason why i am still up is because i just spend close to 3 hours rearranging my room. because i realised that i have alot of books and i need to make space for them. feel a sense of satisfaction because i don really spend alot of time tidying up my room since i don have much time on hand.

since something hit me...make me want to clean up and rearrange my room just seize the opp to do it before i start procrastinating again. most likely within the next 2 years i am going to revamp my whole room. slowly bit by bit gonna get rid most of the cabinet in my room. feel like getting rid of the cupboard as well. well see how it goes. wanna add my own touch to my own room.

i am happy in my brigade but recently i think so many things happen which make very sian. got called back, leave and off was threaten to be cancel, now the worst thing is i am down for guard duty on the 2nd day of CNY. sigh...i am already very sian that i am spending new year eve in camp doing guard duty.

gonna spend tmrw working out, undecided whether to go out with wm and ch anot. wm wants to hang out before i book in. ch wan me to accompany him go rent car and at the same time teach him parking. all i want is probably spend my time at home and jus rest before i book in.

this year christmas is quite a dull affair. probably with the credit crunch thats why this year atmosphere quite down. maybe next year will be better. thank you those who gave me presents and cards! really appreciate it!

spend christmas catching australia. caught the 2.25am show at cineleisure. personally i think is quite a nice movie. although the movie is a box movie dud in the US and reviews are mixed but generally is a nice 3hrs movie. quite a torturous thing to do. realised that ever since i enter army slp is a necessity. reached home at abt 6.30am and i have to washed the car as well since i parked at a free place. planned to take a 1 hr nap before i report for duty but in the end overslept. spend whole of yesterday at home after running errand for my mom since i was drove yesterday.

prior before that rushed home for familer supper at our usual place. since we can't really find a place that open till the wee hrs for a christmas eve dinner.

driving cost more than you think. recently i think i spend too much on gas. even though i don really pay for the gas but i think next month onwards i gonna put a limit on myself probably 100km of gas each month. but i am quite impress with myself also because i don really use the car as often compare to last time. since i don really think driving is a fun thing to do anymore.

a little recap...

8-14 dec.. came back on the 7th to do guard duty. consider quite sui because everybody enjoy their hol while me and my friend were in camp.actually almost late for guard duty because i did not know the first train is at 6.05am and i have to report at 7.30am. but the gd thing is i earn a off for doing guard duty on a public hol. 2ndly i get to know my this friend yong zen even better and now we are quite gd buddy in camp.

did guard duty all the way till 8 dec. was very tired because i remember that during the weekend i did not have enough slp. i have no idea what made me decide to take a last min off. so i managed to convince yong zen to take off together for the next day. thank God that i took off because something happen in camp the next day.

this thing which happen was quite big. almost all the ppl in my branch were confine last week because no one want to admit. even nights out was cancel! but thank God i was excuse because i was on off so i did not get confine.

attended shaun's holy matrimony on sat. was supposed to go and get my remaining stuffs but in the end because the case was not solved on friday while the whole brigade book out at 3 plus we were told to stayed back till 8pm!

15-21 dec.. had range last week. sigh...i felt very cheated. because this staff sgt bluff me and my friend so now i don know did i get marksman anot. the reward for marksman is $200 and 1 day off. i shot very well for my day shoot 15/16. flop during my another day shoot, night shoot total disappointment. last 3 shots managed to shoot 1 but not shot did it hit the target board anot and than IA.

very frustrating day because aft the whole shoot me and my friends found out we kena cheated. could have more or less gotten marksman but because this staff sgt give us wrong info demoralise me for the final 3 shots. now need to wait for the final result to come out.

rest of the week was spend in the discussion room helping my captain do auditing for the ahm cards. those ahm cards are killer. we have over 10,000 cards and alot things to audit. finally finished it today before i book out.

did my 2nd last guard duty this week as well. finally learn the full route for prowling. the last time the route i took was wrong. manage to find some ahem "resting" place which is of course not allowed. if get caught is sign 7 extra.

sunday got called back to camp...wad a day.

i am now officially on leave and off. clearing all my leave and off. met up with a couple of my friends at orchard today. basically for me is to join the mad rush to do some last min shopping. while another of my friend is there to get a present for someone and the other is accompany us.

tiring day. mostly spend the day accompanying this friend. he can really stay in one shop for hours deciding on one thing. thought of going to catch yes man at 1.45am but even at this timing is fully book alr. sigh...y must this happen when i book out!

but tmrw i will definately go catch a movie after my christmas eve dinner with my family. still choosing btw bedtime stories or australia. die die also mus go and watch.

invited to my bunk mate hse on christmas day. but dunno whether can make it anot. if possible gonna drive down to church before heading to his place at bishan. meet up and spend some festive time with my brigade mates.

somehow, this week van reminded me that my birthday is coming soon. nt that soon. is jus like another 53 days. thought i can spend my birthday at brisbane. i even thought of like hang ard in brisbane for 2 -3 days than rent a car drive down to sydney. but something happen so i have to alter my plans. not heading to aus anymore in the month of feb. probably later part of the year.

i have more or less fill up my wishlist for next year. and it will take me alot of saving up to get some of the stuffs on my wishlist. something that i really want and need it.

think i gonna wake up early tmrw and do some jogging. probably before i head down to church will go catch a movie or something.

my course ended today. was hoping that they would somehow or rather extend the course. heard from my friends that this week nights off have been cancel because the bunks were not up to standard. heard that my bunk were nt one of them so feel a bit sian.

i can understand the pains my friends feel. for 2 weeks we were confine for most of the time trying to prepare for LRI and i guess everybody kindda looking forward to the nights out since sunday we work till very late. then such things happen.

for me this 3 days have been very good because i was able to go home everyday make this week a short week.

went to orchard yesterday together with bryan. wanted to get some stuffs for a long time but keep postponing it. but shaun's impending wedding made me rush down to get those stuffs since i don see myself having alot of free time with all my guard duty. just getting a pants and shoes cost me $260. where were all the sales man sigh...

got a bombshell yest. my friend told me that i am down for thursday day guard. i was like huh because my name was not reflected on the duty list, only to realise there was amendment to the list. got to go back camp later to check it out.

my mom today bless me with a LV wallet. was thinking of getting another wallet. so this wallet really came in at the right time. was praying that GOd really give me financial blessing. at least i have one item off my shop list.

next friday will be going for National Education to discovery centre if i am nt wrong. aft that i will be going down to get my last remaining items.

i really need to thank God. as i'm course i get to stay out from today till i think wed night before going back to kranji camp. initially i was not down for this course which is held at stagmont camp. however after toiling for close to 4 weeks, i really welcome this "break".

today is kindda like a slack day for me. lunch break was 2 hrs thus me and my friend went to lot 1 for lunch since we do not have any food ration. basically i also nt too sure what i am learning. nth enter my head. at the same time get to know my this "tycoon" friend even more. i think my nickname now is "Pinky" from the cartoon pinky and the brain.

as i am down for this course i was able to skip the LOGISTIC READINESS INSPECTION (LRI)!!! this LRI is a super huge thing.

another thing is that after praying for months, i think more or less i will not be affected in the internal posting. my senior told me that those who attend this course will stay at HQ S4 means no more SOC for me anymore.

although i guess i will have more work to do now that my friend and myself are the only person attending this course and who are equip with the knowledge of using this software. but is still a piece of good news that i won't be posted out of HQ to signal or any other branches.

with this stay out i am able to catch up on my slp and also get my social life back. should be making a trip down to town tmrw to get some stuffs.

haven't been blogging lately because my com crash and my weekends are burnt up because my brigade is preparing for LAB/LRI. thus there are alot of work to do right now. practically even my nights out are being eaten up as i have to stay back at the workshop for OT. every nights out we were confine to being at yew tee only. aft 45 mins i will be back in bunk getting ready to slp to recharge my body.

can say consider quite sui. moment we come back from gedong we had to do all these things. i must say this things are tough because every week i will have new injuries. and is nt a nice feeling as well when you keep on doing the same thing again and again everyday.

right now is mind over body. physically super tired. a few of my friends have already fallen ill and we have only 6 fighting fit trying to rush out at least 20 over "tanks" for LRI which will commence on 1 dec.

i am so tempted to take mc so i need not report camp tmrw morning at 8.30am but i don think i can leave my friends there to do all the stuffs. another weekend gone just like that. however the gd thing is that they will make it up with off.

really thank God for a good capt. we are supposed to book out at 7 today because the rifles were not clean. and i heard that there will be confinement unless all the rifles are clean. because we have been working OT everyday for like 14 days we skip life run today to head to the workshop to start our work and also he allow us to book out before 7.

the only sad thing is he will be leaving next year. so i nt sure who will replace him. can only hope that i will someone as gd as him.

last friday was cohesion for my branch. went to minds cafe at purvis street. had a great time with my friends and the brigade. after which a few of us went over to bugis to shop for a little while before heading home. been very close with them and really enjoy their company alot. somehow like brothers in arm.

anyway got my guard duty. sigh...i think the guy that plan for me must hate me or something. my guard duties days are 8 dec, 16 dec, 19 dec and 31 dec. but because a couple of my friends can't make it and thus swap dates with me, my guard duty days are 2 dec, 5 dec, 8 dec and 31 dec.

i was like so sian...i am spending a public hol in camp and spending new year eve in camp with my good friend. we decide to count down while we prowl ard the brigade. 3 weeks of no rest. however with the accumulated off i think i have 5 off and half day leave left. gonna plan one shot take it all on the week of christmas.

managed to pass my ippt last friday. gd news is i will most likely be promoted to corporal before next june. wanted to really be a corporal fast because it would mean increment in my monthly allowance and also i get a chance to do COS and not guard duty.

miss ac last week. dui bu qi may because supposed to serve on the weekend but in the end had to report back to camp to rush my work. i think i miss out on alot. thankfully next ac i will be there.

last week went to pub with my brigade frens. went there for their high class coke since i'm not much of a drinker. at the same time i was driving so did not want to risk drinking. thank God my friend drove as well so both of us were the only person that did nt touch liquor.

spent abt 100 on new paperback books. i love to read alot during my free time. because i decided nt to invest on psp so decide to invest on books since i have lots of free time when i return to kranji camp tonight. usually when i go on a book spree i will usually spend easily over 100 on books.

was supposed to go back to kranji camp yest at 2259 but was held up by the ppl at 42 sar. so had no choice but to stay for one more night. was quite frustrating because we finished all the tasks and even pack up their store room which is also our living quarter. only to get called down to settle some stuffs.

thank God that me and my friends quite close. spend the night playing. doing all the crazy stuffs in bunk to lighten the mood. i myself got frog splash by 5 ppl. total weight heavier than the bronco track!

we planned to wake up at 8 and start work at 8.30 so we can chop chop book out of the place and enjoy our day. we were told that we will only required to book in on wed 7.30am. but i guess yest night we had alot of fun and tire ourselves out we only woke up at 9.30 and started work at 10. by 12 we were done with our stuffs and ready for book out.

reached home at ard 2..went out to get lunch when i received a msg saying that we got to book in at 2259. kindda sian but well i still got a half day off which is quite good already. so i shld not complain too much.

wanted to catch the horrorthon only to realise is 31 OCT. alamak! still pondering to catch a movie "REC" before booking in with my barang barang anot.

was serving last sunday..kindda disappointed with my ownself. can take the shotgun and shoot myself. but well gonna make use of this exp grow from here and produce much better result this coming weekend.

i dunno wad was wrong with me that day. my fingers were on the right buttons but when the mistake was there it seem like i just froze there nt knowing wad to do.

money well spent. caught high school musical 3 yest at 2am at downtown east. decide to catch it after i got supper for my family. even though i was so tired but reckon that i shld not waste my precious long weekend. managed to get hold of the full soundtrack from my bro. dunno where he go and download the ost.

was talking to my dad about sup me a credit card. i was half expecting that he would reject me. but i am surprise that he actually said ok. however if it requires him to pay extra for the sup than i rather forgo it. nt that having a credit card now increase my spending power. because i need to be realistic as well with my own finance! jus that with this credit card it can help me save a few dollars in movies and other stuffs.

thank God for van. was chatting with her and told her i wanted to go aust either end of the year or next feb. so she actually helped me check the price. $800 plus for the air tix. crazy beside is budget airline! had dinner with my family today and was telling them and my parents agree that is super ex and they say this amt i can even take norm airline instead of budget. so i shall wait and c.

served for both sat and sun. was doing cg machine. i'm getting a hang of the cg machine. i am told to treat the cg machine well since we are gonna use it for asia conference. got to make the cg machine my good friend. so far the cg machine have been gd to me. haven't really give me much prob except this morning during the running announcement. i'm still nt so perfect..but i am learning every week as i serve. just need to remember the buttons on both set of director board.

after cg went to have a drink with aiming my cgl. i must say she is slowly winning me over. slowly opening up to her. something i struggle ever since she took over. during the talk, was telling her i am slowly finding myself steering more towards my ministry than cg. but i am keeping my options open.

went on a little spending spree last week during my nights out. met up with van and got myself 2 ben sherman tee. wanted to get 2 pair of jeans but i am quite fussy person. did not manage to get any yet. but gonna get it soon. realised that i want to get alot of new stuffs. i'm hunting for a new watch as well that cost less than a thousand, a new belt and a pair of shoes. thought of getting either a hamilton, patek philippe or tag heuer watch. still hunting for the perfect time piece.

gt to do the cg machine last week. quite a challenge because there are certain things to remember. and i don think is my best performance. feel that i need to expand my capacity. my ministry is changing alot! like the mission statement "Able to provide world-class support with any equipment at any place." we have change to using mac and over the last 1 month plus or so added a new cg machine. really moving towards being world class.

enjoy being in this ministry because there are always new things to learn. impt thing i learn is how to handle pressure during "chaotic" times. after all this ministry is really a ministry where you need to pray up everyday. the stress level is high but without a little stress one will nt be able to unleash the full potential.

after sun svc, went out with a few of the guys from cg to town area to catch up. rush over to taka sushi tei to meet my mom and bro for dinner. saw this very cute young little jap boy. that aside, i really enjoy having family meal. more like a family. because my family don't really dine together often. but ever since i enter army i realised that most of my sunday are allocated for family meal.

now i am attending operator maintenance course. because this course is quite dry. the sgt and technicians really know how to lift up the mood. they will set out competition and compete with us. take for instance yest, 3 of my friends took up the challenge to change a 280kg, $15k track in 15 min. the bounty canadian pizzas! my friends lost the "bet" by 1 min.

beside that the tech there will sometime buy ice milo for us to share. come out with some wacky idea to compete like using one hand to put in the circuit breaker something like a stopper and the reward is burger. at least this course quite fun because alot of tea break. 10 - 10.30 is morning tea break, 11.30 - 1 is lunch break and 3 - 3.30 is another tea break.

although i must say this course can be quite fun but it really is tough. there are so many parts to maintain. the killer blow is when we got to do 100hrs maintenance! so far my hands alr suffer a little minor minor injury. nth big. even though i hear one wrong move you can get cut deeply. next fri will be my practical test.

counting down i'm left with only 10 days. minus weekends and public hol i'm left with only 5 days and i'll be back at kranji camp. i seriously have a good capt! a very nice guy. somehow or rather i am in charge of my brigade nights out. because i'm the only one who dare to call my capt and talk to him regarding nights out.

tuesday forgo our nights out. on thursday i wanted to forgo my nights out..but most of my friends were hoping that i go because they say if i don go they won't go as well because i was the one who made nights out happen for them. change my mind went for my nights out. meet up with van again to catch max payne. oh man, one movie down and a few more to go.

don really think that max payne is a very fantastic movie. but because of this movie made me very interested in the game. want to go and search for this game.

wed night my bunk was raided by the rats. even though we set up rat trap and stuffs still cannot catch the rats. they somehow remind me of the rat in "ratatouille". so yest my friends went to get some rat poison. they place it jus beside my cupboard!!!! whole night i had difficulty getting to slp because ard 1 plus i thought i hear something smashing into the cupboard. but decide not to get out off bed to check.

when i woke up this morning again we failed. nt even a single rat was caught. too crafty. outwit the 10 of us in bunk.

i kindda like my current bunk mates. it usually take me a very long time to warm up before i can be my ownself. but this grp of guys make it so comfortable that i start playing pranks on them, joke, act and of course the favourite is talk cock with them. best thing is i'm not only gonna spend the rest of my ns days with them even during reservist i get to c them again.

jus realise that high sch musical is out today. was in bunk during lunch break and pondering shld i catch tropic thunder since is out today as well. now make me rethink.

tmrw will be spending my whole day at expo. thank God that the reporting time change back to 12.30. it was changed to 1030. i was thinking have to wake up early and stuffs. but thank God i have a long weekend this week.

gonna talk to my dad ask him whether will he sup me a credit card if i want one. nt that i want to go on a spending spree or anything. there is a goal that i set for myself. so gonna spend the next 15 mins talking to him abt this.

i'm seriously thinking of going to aust at the end of the year. but i need to go back camp and check how many leaves am i left with. if nt next year during my b'dae i'm gonna go there. thank God my bunk mate whom we nickname "tycoon" owns his own travel agency can look for him when i flying there.

can't remember wad i did last week also. only remember after cg rushed down to orchard to get dan a birthday present. immediately the first shop that came to my mind was to go ben sherman there to get dan a t-shirt since it is tailor made to fit dan's dressing.

moment me and van enter the shop we saw this green t-shirt and we both thought so dan. upon browsing more saw another design. in the end got the green t for him after consulting his 2 sisters.

was super worried that the t will not fit him. i am so surprise that when van pass it to him today it actually fitted him well. thank God for it. wanted to surprised him last sunday but because of time constraint and other things could nt do it. but well it doesn't matter since he like the t alot.

before booking in on sunday...i made use of the last hour before leaving hse to plan my goals. after thinking through actually is very possible for nsf like me who can only be promoted to first class corporal to actually save up 10k.

a little inspiration from my dad and shang made me decide to do the double. i hope to have 20k by the time i ord (june 2010). i am amazed with myself that i actually i can save alot when the year come to an end.

just last week pst preached abt getting ourself out of debt. during fellowship time i was jokking with the guys asking them do they have any ticks and was commenting those without ticks actually are rich ppl.

just spoke to my dad and now i am in debt. actually i think right now i am owing my dad at least 3.5k aft he opened a 10k acc for me for my investments.

but i gonna pay him back full by next year before june hopefully. both my parents are very straight forward people. when i was talking to my mom abt my goal to buy my own hse and car by the age of 25 or 26 she was telling me quite impossible. but i am still strictly following my goals. so by than i will be in bigger debt trying to service the loans. but well i still at an early age start owning assets good. i do believe that i can achieve that although need to reassess my goals each year.

last week manage to find out that 1 of my dad big goal can be done. but however the thing that is preventing from fulfilling his goal is the high asking price. so is now wait and c.

also last week than i got to know actually my hse got quite a high market value. with this money i can actually hmmm live a good life.

this week had all my tests. driving test, directing test and knowledge test. glad to say i pass all my tests only my knowledge test i not sure got pass anot but shld be pass. got my 2nd licence. not to hao lian or anything i even purposely made a mistake only to find out that mistake i made cost me 15 points. in the end got a B for my driving. but not that it bothers me too much.

thought that my stay will be coming to an end but only to find out that i will be staying at sungei gedong for ANOTHER MONTH! i am starting to hate going to sungei gedong. i really can't wait to finish this whole course. one thing that irk me is the communication in sungei gedong. one moment tell us to pack up to leave their bunk one moment unpack tell us we are staying there for another month. really dunno what are they doing sigh.

got my first night out on tuesday. spend the night at lot 1 with my brigade friends. actually this 2 weeks plus got to really know them and i kindda enjoy their company. just that when we go back to brigade i think 3 of us will go to another branch.

today quite a frustrating day. dunno how to elaborate as well. the only gd thing out of the whole thing is today is book out day. thank God that my brigade friend drive me to bukit gombak station which allow me to reach home early. he is another crazy driver that will drive 140km/hr cutting into other lanes. remind me of my old self.

wad a day to be sick. yesterday night had flu and fever. i guess my bed buddy pass it to me. trying my best to get heal so that i can participate in tmrw important driving. will be going outfield driving whole day which will include a night driving and night servicing. hope it will end early as next day will be book out day.

yesterday before book out we had our first outfield driving lesson. i was sitting in the bronco so had a chance to actually take a look at the driver who was driving the bronco. the only uncertainty for me was how to maneuvre the rear cabin. when my turn came actually it was very easy to drive. beside i have a class 3 licence make it even easier for me as there is no difference to driving a car. got a "very good driver" remarks from the instructor who was guiding me.

that exp excite alot of my brigade friends because it was the first time for many who have had the chance to drive. however the bad thing is can't convert ur armor licence to driving licence not that it bothers me alot.

i'm into my 2nd week thru the course..next tuesday will be my driving test in order to get my bronco licence. can't wait for that day to come because it would mean i will be out of sungei gedong camp as it very inaccessible place.

last sunday after serving went to meet char for lunch. had the honor to be the first one to exp her driving. had lunch at t2 fish & co. had a good chat and made me think abt alot of things. gonna take this week to rectify the problems slowly and give it one serious best shot at it.

my close to 4 months in army made me realise one thing. i felt that i actually isolated my ownself ever since i'm in army. neglected a friendship that was so impt to me. remind me how much i'm like yh. trying to get my life back.

if is not for char i think i would have drown even further. she is probably the person i really respect alot and will open up myself to pour out everything.

aft meeting with char went hm to take a nap as i was up the previous day hook to this strategy game. after which had dinner with my family minus my twin bro.

i guess i really love having dinner with my family alot. i think my dad is a very knowledgable person. during the dinner he was sharing his struggles with money and decisions 10 over years ago. and also his 2 projects that he wants to fulfill before he leaves earth.

i too also want to undertake this 2 projects that he have. so i am adding alot of goals to the previous goals that i set for myself. the tasks that i want to do when i am out of army. there is no greater joy in fulfilling others dream and one own dream.

i was reading a quote where this author said warren buffet who is worth US$60 billion gave himself a goal to become a millionaire by 35. who say one cannot achieve their dreams.

after dinner it was back to camp. my mom drove me after we caught an hour of the f1 at home. i am hoping that after i ord i will go and exp it live. along the highway at marina bay area can actually hear the cars zooming past the loud noise of the engine the nosie produce when the tyres met with the track.

anyway my mom reveal the "turmoil" in the family. sigh...i can only pray every night. hope things goes well soon.

i am so super tempted not to book in tonight. but i will. gonna bring more medicine there and hopefully wake up the next day feeling better. time to go take a nap.

i seriously think that God is a good and faithful answering God. Firstly i enlisted into probably the toughest company in rocky hill but i am bless with super good commanders that really take cared of us!

every night without fail i will always allocate time to pray and one of the thing that i pray for is a gd vocation aft i pop. got in HQ 4 Singapore Armor Brigade. i must say i am very bless to be in here.

monday when i report to my new camp at kranji, we just sat there fill in 2 forms, had lunch, met with our platoon commander who is a captain which shock all of us. the next thing was to pack our stuffs and book out and report to sungei gedong for driving course.

my pc is a very nice guy. the first impression he gives you is that he is a fierce person. but in actual fact we can actually joke with him and he is a very welfare person.

being posted to brigade means we got alot of welfare. 5 days work week for us and usually we can knock off at 5.30pm everyday. is a stay in camp. however, we got nights out on every tuesday and thursday and we are required to be back by 11pm. from no leaves, my captain reinstate 2 days to me which i can use it at the end of the year.

although my vocation is to be a bronco driver but because i am with brigade it means i will be a part time clerk as well. will only require to drive if there are exercises.

life in sungei gedong also very good because the sergeants attached to us from signal branch are very good as well. led me to believe that the ppl in brigade are all very good. not very regimental!

we need nt join in 5bx, wake up at 6 plus go for breakfast. on those days that have live run where we need to run 4.2km on monday, wed, fri, we will participate aft that prepare for lecture, lunch, cont with lecture and knock off. usually RO will end before 5 and by 7 or 7 plus i will be fast asleep in bunk.

brought nth to do in camp so get bored too easily thus i will always slp early. wake up at abt 9 plus meet ch and go chat with him.

next week will b tougher because i will going outfield for driving and alot of servicing and maintainence to do. but i am looking forward to finishing this course so i can get out of 42 sar and go back to kranji camp.

the only thing that i am worry is abt the internal posting. i hope i won't get posted out of logistic branch. love it if i can stay with logis till my ns days are over.

going to report to my new camp in less than 8 hours. sigh the feeling is so sian. kindda gotten used to civilian life and now got to go back to being a soldier.

went to jog after cg before going for family dinner. along the way my big bro was telling me his friend say the camp that i am posted to is super relax. on the other hand my twin bro was telling me that is not slack got alot of outfield and standby. there goes my weekend.

i don really know what to expect in my new camp...

spend yesterday with ch, glenn, jr and van at city hall. after svc was supposed to meet up with char but than last min change to next sat. glenn went to look for a new shoes but i think waste too much time at expo, by the time we were at city hall all the stores were closed. what happen to the night life in singapore??

head to raffles city cafe cartel to settle our dinner. great time fellowshipping with them. doubt this will cont anymore. above, ch was trying his best to help me down pest by trying to murder me in public.

realised i have been spending too much. with building fund around the corner i got to start saving.

after thinking for like few months..i guess i have already change directions. i have always dabble and hesitate for a long time. i wanna focus on one area from now onwards. to focus on my ministry and really devote more of myself to my ministry.

really thank God for a good friend like dan. even though hardly talk to him or meet him up but he is always there for me. always providing encouragement and a listening ear.

got my posting. had some trouble sleeping the whole night. i remember i think van asked me this question btw infantry and armor which vocation would i prefer. i choosed armor. sigh..true enough i got into armor. HQ 4 SAB at kranji. not my desired vocation. but the good thing abt my posting is i am posted to headquarter.

hq is different from unit. according to alot of people, hq is alot more slack and relax as compared to armor unit. talked to alot of my friends wad jackson told me make me quite look forward to report on monday. he told me got alot of free off, go there be clerk only during outfield drive tank. also not sure on monday will that be the case anot.

wonder can i book out every night or must stay in since is hq and brigade.

however i think alot of my platoon mates got better vocation. only one out of 40 plus in my platoon become rifleman.

gonna meet my platoon up tonight at starbucks at marina to jus chill and talk about our new vocation. probably this is the last time we gonna meet one another also. hopefully i am wrong.

tmrw hopefully can get enough ppl to go and play soccer. after that need to rush down to philip securities before it closes to get my acc done. after which go attend svc. so many things to do but so little time. monday 0800 must report to my new camp.

in less than 12 hours i will be able to check my posting. sigh..dunno can fall asleep anot. too anxious abt my posting. dying to know where i am being posted to.

met up with glenn to exercise this afternoon. went to jog before we went swimming. i think if glenn nv asked me i think i would be pigging at home. super tired don't feel like doing anything. but i am real glad i did not.

we were talking abt the nike run 2008. how i wish next year nike will organise another of this event. kindda miss out on this year. heard from glenn that boys like girls came down to perform as well. i promise next year i will be there if nike is gonna org it again.

after the whole exercise, we decide to head back to my place while waiting for van to join us for dinner and short fellowship at starbucks. talked quite alot...quite a number of my friends are attached and one of them is gonna propose to his gf real soon. i am assign to be his runner.

anyway we were talking abt getting attach as well. but we will leave till aft we finish army before we decide on anything. army don leave us with much time as well for anything else.

i think life will be great if can chill out at cafe everyday. not everyday but rather like once or twice everyweek. just sit down enjoy a cup of whatever drink and just talk talk talk talk to the wee of the night.

jus came back from jogging not too long ago. finally able to go for a morning jog. i feel like i have been eating alot lately. need to exercise more. is not easy to be discipline to exercise everyday. wanted to jog everyday but realised that is not easy. but at least i did manage to do some form of exercise everyday either carry weights or go jogging. still not so bad.

went out with ch and van. sort of like our last time hanging out together since ch would be like in camp for guard duty etc. and after this week both of us will be reporting back to camp sigh. life would be great if we did not have to be stuck in camp. another 20 more allowance from SAF and i will be free to pursue my goals.

kindda surprise to hear that ch is starting to save up. he was telling us that he sign up something with uob which will require him to save 200 each month. i think me and him we are growing older. time to start thinking of our future.

went orchard to shop. return home empty handed. had dinner at sushi tei at paragon. did not really know that paragon had an outlet. usually i will visit the one at taka instead.

was thinking of chilling out at either starbucks or coffee bean at orchard but we decide to head home and go McCafe instead since we can hang out there till we drop dead. pick both of them up before we head to east coast mccafe. enjoy my time at there with both of my good friends. play cards, enjoy our double choc frappe, talk crap and had breakfast there.

don think there is anymore such chance for me to stay up till now jus chilling out enjoy my day since army eat up all my annual leaves for this year. now i don even know whether i can attend asia conference.

gonna take a short nap and hopefully get in the mood to go over my bro's condo there and swim. today must spend more time exercising.

time really flies...now i am left with only thursday, friday, sat and sun. and tmrw i will know my posting. i think i will settle for any vocation except infantry and guards. hopefully get a good posting.

recap..monday went vivo with ch, jr and van. kindda last min meeting. i guess i just enjoy meeting my good friends up and just spend the day with them. shop ard vivo. ch, jr and myself got ourselves some new tees. i realised this whole month i have been spending alot. need to curb my spending a bit.

tuesday i think spend the whole day at home watching city of angels. managed to finish sleepless in seattle as well. i think both movies show tom hanks and meg ryan at their best. spend the night actually watching this taiwan variety programme with my mom. they were talking abt top 10 classic love song that shook taiwan. from there me and my mom strike up alot of conversation. talked alot abt those classic song since i am also a fan of oldies songs. aft which went to get supper for my family.

quiet in love with my new running shoes. is super light weight it feels like i am not wearing anything at all. manage to get 40% discount for it as well. i think i need to invest on some good running shoes. i think is a old model or something.

side track a bit kindda disappointed with how Manchester United started their season. another sluggish start. wonder when will they hit the gears. languishing in the epl, losing the european super cup and began the defence of their UEFA Champion League crown with a draw.

the last 4 days have been a real turmoil. kindda hard to imagine 3 of the big 5 in the wall street are being acquired by different banks. i wonder what is install for us the next few weeks. this is the worst financial crisis. US is in recession, europe is slowly entering recession. doubt this financial crisis is gonna clear anytime soon. maybe can get something out of this whole mess lik tycoon mr oei hong leong in today straits times.

4 days have passed and just like that i am left with another 7 more days and i will be back in camp. sigh...so far i have not done much. like wasting my block leave away. but manage to get my running shoes, meet up with my friends and jus fellowship. the last 7 days i must do something constructive!

friday went over to shang's place in the evening for a time of fellowship. played cranium a game that stimulate your brain. is very tough game but is a very very fun game. just that we did not have enough time to complete this game.

attended today svc as i had to serve as well. i think i need to learn more. like today's svc it was quite bad. not the usual standard, there were tense moments. well moments like these are learning steps.

i need to remember about the basic things. cannot take it for granted that everything will function properly. and i wanna learn more of the technical side of chorus board as well. so in case if there is any problem i can remedy the problem on the spot. still a long way for me.

yesterday had lunch together with my family minus my 2nd bro. on the way home had a conversation with my dad. begin to alter my plans slightly. decide to probably take a month or 2 after i ORD on 12 june 2010 to go travel around the world. i want to go and see the world, broaden my knowledge. was thinking of going to visit new york, paris, italy and spain.

that would kindda seriously alter my financial plans. but i think these visits will do me good. right now i probably have the cash to go visit one of this country. so hopefully end of my ord i will be able to have enough cash to visit these 4 countries.

kindda bored at home...and right now there no good movies. wanted to go and rent some classic titles to watch at home. want to watch this 3 movies.

not too sure whether they have these 3 titles anot. kindda oldies movies. maybe tmrw go over and see do they have these movies.

finally...probably soon can get to see a spyker car on singapore road. below is a 2007 spyker c12. quite like their sport car. i dunno but i love sport cars alot. not those asian brand but rather more of the continental brands.

finally POP lo! supposed to book back at 8.30pm to go for my make up grenade tmrw. but talk to my pc as i need to attend something in the morning i was excuse. and from now on till i go to my new vocation i can officially jus slack and relax and enjoy my block leave.

one thing is i am real glad that my mom came today. was msging pam because i wanted to skip the whole parade because my mom at first did not want to come. but decided to just go through with the parade thank God i nv ask my pc can i skip anot.

the parade was fun. after 3 months going through the high and low with the platoon we finally pass out of tekong. no longer recruit but private. gonna miss the guys because down there the people really very caring and understanding. even when my grandfather pass away the moment i book in most of my friends already start showing me concern.

even the following day when we had to do area cleaning..my platoon ic for the week was understanding when i did not help much.

hopefully they will finalise the plan to org a chalet for one last gathering before we go to our respective units.

supposed to go botak again for the parade today. however our platoon sergeant helped us. apparently there was a miscom btw 2ic and sergeant major. abt 2 weeks ago was supposed to be our last hair cut. so yest night they actually make it optional for platoon 3 and 4. so i decide nt to go botak time to grow the hair and prepare for spec hairstyle for the next 1 year 9 months.

as it was our last night in tekong. quite a number of my platoon mate actually stayed up and play ghost. a lot of ppl kanna prank. even my pc was kanna prank. the commanders opp at yankee company even thought they saw something. prior before that we had a party at section 2 with the commanders to mark our last night in tekong. generally even though i kindda hate booking into tekong each week but my platoon is by far the best and leave a lasting memories for me.

they wanted to prank me but because of the demise of my grandfather they decide out of respect let me off the hook. heard they actually do alot of funny and stupid stuffs like pee in ppl boots, take ppl water bottle mix coffee, tea, pocari sweat all kind of funny flavors. the small brown cardboard will appear on our metal cupboard, beds will start shaking. all the funny stuffs.

gonna miss them..hopefully i get to be in the same unit as some of my friends and we can probably "havoc" a little bit more haha.

later gonna meet up with yh, jason, hopefully ch and dunno who just go have supper and enjoy the night at amk. probably tmrw go swimming with ch and than head down to queensway in the afternoon to probably get a new nike running shoes. quite like the new design esp the sole area. hopefully is more durable because the price of the shoes is quite steep.

having more family meals together this week. gonna have lunch together at taka on a sat morning. probably if my dad join us we will go have chinese meal and from there i will jus buy everybody lunch. dinner on sunday at this place that sell good shanghai dumplings. been going there since we were a small kids. very long nv go there and eat miss the food.

hopefully on the 19th i will get a good posting. even ch manage to be a combat medic. so hope i can get a good one. like wad pam say one step closer to my ord.

i think there are some stuffs that i want to accomplish within my block leave, go to philip securities and open an acc, play some soccer, catch up on bleach anime, can't think of other activities.

i also dunno how to describe my pc. on some days he is quite bad but on some days he is a very good person. reason why i am still at home is because he allowed me to book in at any time i want today. i am thankful for this.

so another 2 more days and i will officially grad from bmtc and leave tekong. also dunno how to spend my 11 days of block leave provided there is no confinement for my platoon or for myself. need to go talk to my pc abt it.

had thoughts of catching wall.e and make it happen this week or something. but i think by the time i pop on wed and hopefully don get confine on wed i think the movie wall.e will not be on the big screen anymore. seems like alot ppl want to go and catch this show thats why make me also wanna catch this show.

was reading the internet news..look like this sept can expect to see myself chilling in cafe talking thru the night with my good friends instead of heading to the theatre because usually sept is a quiet month for hollywood.

finally caught camp rock today. my good friend glenn intro this disney original movie to me like probably a month ago but did not had time to watch it. and yest it debut on disney channel so took the chance to watch it.

jus came home from my grandfather wake. did sentry with my mom and aunt. probably in like 2 hours i will have to wake up and most probably go and get my pop ticket from my friend. decide to ask my parents to attend and help my mom forget and ease her pain and see me pass out from bmtc.

at the wake my bro reveal this week he had a big and sort of nasty quarrel with my dad. i don come from a family that uses vulgarities. i am not perfect as well because i do admit that under extreme frustration in camp i will just blurt it out to myself. but my stand is nv use all these words on anybody. i am not saying this is right and like i was telling my friends this is my flaw and i wanna change and not even blurt out such words under extreme frustration or during unfair punishments.

from my mom i realise why i need to change. she was telling me how rebellious we were when we were young but did they ever use vulgarities on us? got me to think alot how we have grown to be more disrepectful. because my bro was angry and frustrated such words are use. if i can curb and discipline myself i will not worry abt finding myself in such position in future.

i remember probably 3 weeks ago i was having a conversation with my malay platoon friend and we were discussing abt our studies. i nv thought of going abroad to study but ever since i enlisted with the army i started to think differently. considered going abroad to study. i know that my big bro is gonna apply and my twin bro wants and shld be most likely going as well to study oversea.

was driving home from the wake when i had this conversation with my mom. from there i found out what happen and also finally a secret i had kept for my bro from my family was revealed on this conversation. is another shock for my mom. is like one thing after another happening.

with this i have decided to abandon any thought of going oversea to study but to stay in singapore and explore other possibilities. in the end one of us will still have to stay back to be around.

since i am nv that interested in studying i shall just stick ard probably learn the ropes from my dad and mom and probably work towards my previous goal to work part time and study at the same time. is not like i view it as a lost not able to go oversea study but i think i rather serve my duties here.

i don really think i am the perfect son or anything. i don deny i made a lot of mistakes in life and disappoint my parents big time most of the time. but like i say ever since my mom op i learn to cherish them. with the sudden departure of my grandfather make me treasure them even more.

i can nv make up to them for what they have sacrifice for me. but if really both my brothers are going oversea to study i will definately stay back help out in the family business and explore other avenue regarding my studies here.

was thinking what have i done for my parents these past few weeks. actually not much in my 21 years. was thinking of dropping my parents a msg probably next thursday or friday to tell them meet for dinner. since i would also be getting my allowance from saf on the 10th.

time to show a little care and concern for my parents. even as i hear them talked abt my uncle and aunties already retired but they are still working hard not for themselves but for us. slowly step by step time to really be a real son to them.

last sunday i was given the chance to sort of lead the team while serving. really thank God for this opportunity given to me. feel that my direction sort of change as well. i am enjoying myself in the ministry and looking forward to keep on learning new things. my short term goal will be hopefully given a chance to maybe lead for 1 svc during asia conference. but maybe a bit tough. for now i will jus grab every chance given to me and learn as much as possible.

was supposed to board 8pm ferry but manage to catch the 2 plus ferry. received msg from my mom and bro that my grandfather pass away in the morning due to heart attack. the news came to sudden. the last time i saw him was i think during CNY.

my grandfather to me i feel is quite a positive person. he had heart bypass, stroke, diabetes, even had one of his leg amputated and have to control his diet. thing is despite all these he still full of joy hardly see him sad only except when he had his leg amputated.

i remember how we use to go over and slp, play, and the fondest memory i have is when he was still a taxi driver he will always bring the 3 of us ard and as a young kid i will always be facinated with the wiper whenever he goes to shell drive through to wash the taxi.

this whole week will not be attending any church meeting. will be down at the wake.

next wed will be my graduation parade. now i still thinking whether to attend anot. although my mom told me that she let me decide but i dunno shld i still get them to come and attend the parade since my mom is grieving.

probably will give away my tix to my friend if i decide not to get my parents to come since no one help me put on my cap.

thank God that i decide to sacrifice and complete my 24km route march if not i would have to stay in and go for a make up route march. generally it was quite ok. a sense of pride to be able to finish this 24km route march.

quite another frustrating week in camp. because we "miss" the audition for recruit evening when is not really our fault, our csm gonna confine us after pop. because i miss throwing grenade aft pop i get to book out and 2 hours later at 9pm book back in again when i can't even go for the make up.

don really understand why when we are going to pop so many stunts happen. it seems like recruits life is the worst because we are always getting confinement even on our block leave! work hard for 3 months only to be told that we are going to get confine.

was talking to my dad during the wake and he was telling me if there are so many restriction wouldn't life be tough. i cannot agree more with this statement.

i think this is the first time i book out very early. abt 6 left tekong and board the ferry back to singapore. but the downside to booking out early is that on sunday i have to book in REAL REAL early at 5.45pm. not something that i am looking forward to. probably to prepare us for monday 24km route march.

but well another 12 more days and i will pop! again the downside to it is i have to go back or stay back one more day to go for my make up grenade test which i miss. argh while my friends are out there enjoying their block leave i am suffering. still thinking how to miss it. however if my friends are all going back i will go back and join them and throw grenade and leave tekong for one last time sept 11.

i was very angry on wed though. firstly i was at medical centre for medical review. the transport already very slow and we had to wait for hours and we did not had lunch. wanted to go canteen buy some stuffs but my sergeant don't allow. well nonetheless thank God we saw him as he arrange for us to have lunch at ladang.

was messaging my ex class mate and i don get it what joy do ppl get when they link you up with another person. i was kindda angry because i detest such thing. there is no truth in all these why still keep on linking me with another person. when i tell you to stop and you don't, that is when i will jus do anything and say anything to make you stop it. i remember that my church friends and good friends like to do this but at least they don do it anymore! so kindly pls stop all these before you really fustrate me.

msg van and pour out my frustration because she have first hand experience. she along with other of my close friends use to do all this but after knowing how serious i am in this matter they have stop. probably shld jus drop my fren van's number and let her share her story. or maybe my other good friends can relate their stories as well.

thinking how i shld spend my night and tmrw before i book in on sunday. maybe go supper later. tmrw probably hang out. sunday go church and serve before heading home to rest.

A Letter to My Son, on Starting Out In Life

Dear Seth,
You’re only three years old, and at this point in your life you can’t read, much less understand what I’m going to try to tell you in this letter. But I’ve been thinking a lot about the life that you have ahead of you, about my life so far as I reflect on what I’ve learned, and about my role as a dad in trying to prepare you for the trials that you will face in the coming years.
You won’t be able to understand this letter today, but someday, when you’re ready, I hope you will find some wisdom and value in what I share with you.

You are young, and life has yet to take its toll on you, to throw disappointments and heartaches and loneliness and struggles and pain into your path. You have not been worn down yet by long hours of thankless work, by the slings and arrows of everyday life.

For this, be thankful. You are at a wonderful stage of life. You have many wonderful stages of life still to come, but they are not without their costs and perils.

I hope to help you along your path by sharing some of the best of what I’ve learned. As with any advice, take it with a grain of salt. What works for me might not work for you.

Life Can Be CruelThere will be people in your life who won’t be very nice. They’ll tease you because you’re different, or for no good reason. They might try to bully you or hurt you.
There’s not much you can do about these people except to learn to deal with them, and learn to choose friends who are kind to you, who actually care about you, who make you feel good about yourself. When you find friends like this, hold on to them, treasure them, spend time with them, be kind to them, love them.

There will be times when you are met with disappointment instead of success. Life won’t always turn out the way you want. This is just another thing you’ll have to learn to deal with. But instead of letting these things get you down, push on. Accept disappointment and learn to persevere, to pursue your dreams despite pitfalls. Learn to turn negatives into positives, and you’ll do much better in life.

You will also face heartbreak and abandonment by those you love. I hope you don’t have to face this too much, but it happens. Again, not much you can do but to heal, and to move on with your life. But Be Open to Life Anyway Yes, you’ll find cruelty and suffering in your journey through life … but don’t let that close you to new things. Don’t retreat from life, don’t hide or wall yourself off. Be open to new things, new experiences, new people.

You might get your heart broken 10 times, but find the most wonderful woman the 11th time. If you shut yourself off from love, you’ll miss out on that woman, and the happiest times of your life.

You might get teased and bullied and hurt by people you meet … and then after meeting dozens of jerks, find a true friend. If you close yourself off to new people, and don’t open your heart to them, you’ll avoid pain … but also lose out on meeting some incredible people, who will be there during the toughest times of your life and create some of the best times of your life.

You will fail many times but if you allow that to stop you from trying, you will miss out on the amazing feeling of success once you reach new heights with your accomplishments. Failure is a stepping stone to success.

Life Isn’t a CompetitionYou will meet many people who will try to outdo you, in school, in college, at work. They’ll try to have nicer cars, bigger houses, nicer clothes, cooler gadgets. To them, life is a competition — they have to do better than their peers to be happy.

Here’s a secret: life isn’t a competition. It’s a journey. If you spend that journey always trying to impress others, to outdo others, you’re wasting your journey. Instead, learn to enjoy the journey. Make it a journey of happiness, of constant learning, of continual improvement, of love.
Don’t worry about having a nicer car or house or anything material, or even a better-paying job. None of that matters a whit, and none of it will make you happier. You’ll acquire these things and then only want more. Instead, learn to be satisfied with having enough — and then use the time you would have wasted trying to earn money to buy those things … use that time doing things you love.

can't remember where i read this letter from. i think what the author wrote is kindda inspiring. not sure is he a christian but certainly he has good values that he embrace deeply and want to pass it on to his child. we heard the msg from pst many times even the callous on our hand can remember it. but how many of us really carry it out.

slept very late yesterday ard 3 plus close to 4am. my twin bro woke me up ask me to send him to camp. upon reaching home took a quite nap before i wake up to prepare to meet up with yh and teach him how to swim. in the end because of some ns thingy that he need to settle he realised he could not make it. and weiming was at tamp gym decide to head down. don wanna ps him and leave him there alone.

upon reaching there, we decided not to swim which was a correct decision because abt 20 mins later it started to rain. a wet wet day. decide to have lunch together while shang, van, glenn and shunfu joined us from expo. jus enjoyed talking to them because we can be so free just speak out everything and no need to worry about anything.

after lunch we decide to head to city area there to chill and have dinner together. went to some stores to look for a suitable running shoes and shoes. so far none caught my eyes probably after i pop i will head to queenstown and see can a decent running shoes. hopefully next year when i go for army half marathon i will be able to complete the whole marathon. but first i need to cont to train myself.

dinner was at this indonesian restaurant "Ayam Penyet Ria" at lucky plaza. brought them there to makan because char intro me to that place months ago. after dinner head down to far east than to heeren before we make our individual way home.

tmrw morning will be joining dan, hx, van, sher and i think glenn to play badminton at tamp sports hall. i must say they are a group of fantastic friends! initially they wanted to play at 10 but i need to be at pasir ris at 12.15 to prepare for book in. they compromise and shift the timing to 8am so i can join them before i book in. really enjoying my long weekend. hopefully this week is also friday book out!

saw this backpacker at city area today made me think of backpacking also. sigh if only i can find a companion that is very steady and don back out last min or etc i will fulfill my wish of going oversea for a short hol. was thinking during my 11 days of block leave go but scare i will be called back for guard duty. i think the next best timing would be end of year when i clear my leave. mean while need to save more so can fulfill my dream to go oversea.

tonight is a good night did not expect anything but God is good!

quite a depressing week in camp. a bit home sick. maybe that was due to last week only got to spend time in singapore for less than 24hrs. felt quite miserable in camp.

monday had this BAC test. went for it pass the test before i fall out of the next activity which is SOC to ensure i can do my 16km route march the next day.

because i was afraid that i might have to rt for 16km route march if i fail to attend so postpone going to see the mo. the last time i did my route march i did until 8km and miss the 12km. thought that they would only allow me to walk 12km only but thank God manage to complete my 16km route march. thus i am able to do the 24km route march on 1 sept.

thursday we had OC nite. throughout the week we were practicing for this nite. did something like stomp/strikeforce. the whole OC nite kindda fun because we get to enjoy and sit back and relax. after all the platoon finish performing results came in and we won. sergeant and storeman went up to perform as well. is a night of fun. the night snack provided was fantastic probably the best meal i ever consume in tekong!

another thing that got me quite down was because i was suppose to only book out on sat morning. felt like i was being duped by my company because they sought of "promise" us that we will have a long weekend this week.

as i mention earlier, last week we were out for less than 24hrs and abt 20 plus ppl did not book in. news came in that all excuse, attend c and a group of ppl who went to cmpb on monday to retake their test are to be confine and book out on sat because we miss soc.

abt 5 hours before we book out this group of ppl who went to cmpb were allow to book out on friday. i went to look for my pc to ask how come i am being confine as well. i walk out of the platoon office disappointed and super angry.

this is wad my pc told me. can you pls stay back? i need someone to be a digger for the rt soc on sat. in my heart i was like who wants to stay back one more day beside i am excuse from wearing boots. so i told him i can't wear boots as well and my pc sigh and gave me this sian look and started to look for another reasons to convince me why i need to stay behind.

he went on to tell me that he felt that OC decision to make the grp of ppl stayed back was unfair and beside they ALL PASS their soc and went on to say is OC decision for all the excuse and attend c ppl to stay back.

when he made the last statement i can't rebut because OC is the biggest in my company. but i was super angry because he lied to me. monday was the first rundown for soc and the grp of ppl who went to cmpb did not even attend it so how does he determine that all of them pass. secondly if he say is OC made the decision for them to stay back and he felt it was unfair for them to stay back how come he can overwrite his decision and yet can't overwrite for me?

my whole platoon felt very unfair for me because i literally confine for no reason. i can't participate jus wake up next morning at 5.30 to sit down there and wait to book out. my friend micah who was attend c on sunday during lunch time apologise to me because somehow due to the high attend c rate to cover up the whole thing i got confine for no reason.

every night i prayed that God will change the whole situation ever since news came out on tuesday abt the confinement. i really thank God for very good platoon mates, platoon sergeant and sergeant.

my friends decide to help me talk to my platoon sergeant who to me is the best sergeant in my company. after the whole talk he went down to talk to my pc. my pc still refuse to change his mind. aft dinner, while i retire to bunk and seeing all of them happily waiting to book out i was quite sian lying on bed.

did not know that some of my friends who were confine, platoon sergeant and sergeant were downstair still fighting for me to book out together with them. abt 15 mins before we were require to go down and fall in, my sergeant call my friend to ask me to change and prepare for book out.

God really turned the whole situation for me. i feel so bless! i really have fantastic outstanding friends and sergeants. despite them having to stay back they still help me fight for my case. really without their help i would only be able to book out on sat morning.

another 17 days and i will finally POP and leave tekong. thank God my company is the 4th company to book out on that day. will leave tekong at abt 6 plus 7pm.

attended svc today at the same time support shang for his sot grad. saw pam today as well along with the others like yh, sj, weiming seems like quite long since i saw them. saw this guy from platoon 1 in my company not sure is he a church member anot or is he here to support his friend for sot grad. after knowing another guy from platoon 1 talking abt him i got a very good impression of him. maybe he is the one from my zone. not too sure abt it.

after svc went over to alvin's place to attend his early birthday party. hang ard till 11.20 before leaving the place to head for home. actually had plans to go watch death race with ch but because there is still a ban on the merc can't really use the car. but manage to test drive it for the first time jus now. the car has a good feel but i hate the car haha. not quite user friendly since is mostly computerise and the gear is place at the side, not your usual gear.

tmrw will be going to jog and swim with yh, ch and weiming at 11.30. thought of going to catch money no enough 2 at expo but decide against it. so probably will be spending time with shang for lunch before meeting up with glenn and van to hang out. more or less thats my plan for tmrw.

probably if i have the time i wanna go shop for new stuffs. realise that i need new belt, jeans and shirt since i shed quite alot of weight in army.

rest up before booking in on monday noon. really enjoy this long weekend i have.

will officially move over to sat svc on the first week of sept. hopefully aft my ns cg will go back to friday and not on the weekend.

"I was just logging in to blog about another mundane day of my mundane life in this mundane blog when something interesting jumped out of the main page of wordpress. I was startled because I had given full credibility to this issue and to be decieved by it is definitely saddening.
I am talking about Mike Guglielmucci’s testimony of suffering from a terminal stage cancer for 2 years. If you do not know who is he, just go youtube and type ‘healer’. Yes, he’s the composer of this hit song in the christian worship community and has gained multiple folds of fame and probably fortune through this song as Hillsong recorded it on their latest album, and THAT is a huge platform for anybody to be big, considering Hillsong is like the Timbaland or Rihanna of the secular music scene.

So what’s the deal about? The deal is that he released a statement saying that his claims about being terminally sick with cancer is untrue for the past 2 years. So that means all the videos of him on youtube wearing all those horribly painful looking nose tubes and oxygen masks is all just a facade.

So apparently there’s alot of different responses to this issue, I’m not going to elaborate or give my thought onto this because frankly I have no definite view on this issue but you can read the views of many people just go using Google. It’s a pity that such thing is to happen but all we can do is to pray and pray.

But what I feel about this is that the credibility of integrity of the church is definitely damaged. and it probably takes time for the people to get over this and move on. For me I feel that I have been duped, as I have used the song a few times for my own healing.

However, what I believe that is still credible after all this hoo ha is that the authenticity of the message he preached and the power of the song still rings true. Someone once said that the true authenticity of worship is not found in the name of the composer or writer but is found in the heart of the singer. So regardless of whether the song is written with decietful purposes to gain personal gain and fame, I believe that nevertheless the lyrics of the song still has genuine value to bless people.

I don’t really blame him for doing this because being a ‘celebrity’ in the christian world, these ‘celebrities’ are constantly under the scrutinisation of their detractors, waiting for them to fall and make mistakes and blow everything out to the public to laugh and derail them. But how would you feel if you, a normal person, having to live a life where everything you do, including your poo poo sessions where you moan and groan is under the watchful eyes of skeptical people? How would you feel if all the secret sins that you do in your life while portraying a holy life in front of your friends get exposed in the Straits Times main page for the whole of Singapore to see? It could be anything ranging from pornography to God knows what you do at home! LOL.
Doesn’t that feel awful? These ‘celebrities’ are also human, and as such, they will fall. But the righteous will fall 7 times and pick themselves up 7 times too. So all I can say is to pray pray and pray for him to have genuine repentance and remorse. Which makes me wonder about my own church. Whether does my church contain some secret sins too?

Like embezzling of the tithes and offerings of the people to build golden taps in their own homes etc? You can’t blame me for bringing this piece of sad sin closer to home but it has definitely made me realise that even the holiest person on this planet Earth can too fall to sin. But the beauty of man’s sin is the redemptive power of Christ that he have graciously given to us!
I mean, God could just pick MIke by his shirt collar and throw him into the pits of hell for doing this sin, but he did not. Because if he did, he needs more than just 2 fingers to pick every single person in this earth and throw them into hell. God is a good God, that’s what I believe. I’ll probably have the VIP lava suite if God is to do that LOL."

celeb ch birthday last sunday after svc. went to changi airport fish & co. glad that the whole thing was carried out smoothly and he was surprise that we were actually down there celeb for him.

book out yesterday night and soon in a couple of hours i will i will be booking in again. feeling very sian right now. less then 24 hours out here!

this whole week did nth at camp. while the rest went for sit test i was at company line with the rest who did not make it for the out field. can say that this week very relaxing for me as i spend everyday slacking in camp. one thing i enjoy though is getting to make new friends with the guys from other platoon.

even though pop is in 3 weeks but i don feel anything. how i wish is the reverse i will be ord in 3 weeks. the feeling of going back to tekong is so sian. hope that this 3 weeks will pass by soon.

upon booking out, went home to take a short rest before picking glenn and van up. went to 85 to celeb glenn's birthday and also "feast". gordon joined us as well. thought can surprise him but well failed. well nonetheless glad he enjoyed himself.

why i say feast was because on friday and sat i only ate sponge cake and bread for lunch and dinner. quite pathetic. so set my mind to actually go and feast and have something good to eat.

went to serve this morning, i quite enjoy serving today. there is a new work flow but the team was able to kindda deliver the svc smoothly. looking forward to serve in 2 weeks.

i pray that this week is friday book out and monday afternoon book in. if that is true i will be so happy. time need to pass faster! wanna quickly pop and get into a unit. hopefully into a slack unit.

shall go and run right now. probably next week go swim as well if i don tio guard duty on weekend.

booking in tonight. wanted to post an entry but whole day internet down until an hour ago. sigh...can't wait to book out. another 1 more month and i will officially pop. guess my next update will be during the weekend when i book out on sat.

just came back from tekong. another out field to look forward this coming week from thursday to sat. sigh very SIAN ah!!!!!!!! don't really want to hear field camp this 2 words anymore and also must add in shell scrap.

had ippt the day before field camp started. manage to maintain my standard and cont to improve on my running time by slashing another min off my previous timing. soon abt to hit my personal best already. just to prepare for my 2.4 went to run 20 rounds around my company line non-stop. shall make it a habit to do this each time before ippt.

did rear scout on the first day of our field camp. i think being rear scout during route march quite fun because you can go on your own pace and also get to interact with your sergeant. got to know my sergeant better during this whole route march on the first day. but i must say is a killer this 8 click route march. withe extra items quite tiring. first time feel my left hand went numb during the march.

straight after the route march a few mins of rest we started setting up our tents. very troublesome and i think probably my platoon was the last one to finish setting up. first day can say a bit shiong.

2nd day we had our movement drills. this day quite relaxing. after lesson we were break up to platoon level then to section level. basically we jus carry out our movement drills. basically we just sit down under the tree hide under the shade and just talk to our sergeant who is really a very nice guy. when night time came we had our night test which i think everybody pass.

3rd day was just more movement drill and also carry out urban operation. also quite a relaxing day sit inside the building have lunch talk to sergeant and rest. on this day my friends and myself we did something which cannot be revealed. bring a little thrill into your life but also put fear in your life also. if ever caught thats it for us. we will be hanged haha.

however 4th day we needed to pack up and move to another camp site. the tactical route march is a killer. the order of move for that day was platoon 1, 2, 3 and lastly 4. as the last platoon, we were proning down for probably an hour, high kneel for 30 mins run 2.4 with our rifle and LBV just waiting for the front platoon to move.

probably half way there we were finally allowed to break from the company and just tactical march in platoon level. in between we were given rest and time to fill up our bottle. everybody was totally tired because as the last platoon we got to wait for signal before we move off. by the then the platoons in front will be already walking so far front we have to double up jus to keep up with them. thank God our OC is a nice person who really take care of the recruits here.

rested a bit at the new camp site before we started on our fresh ration before we start our shell scrap (not sure is this spelling). well is super tough no wonder grave digger earn alot i guess. started at about 2.20 finished it in 4 hours. but not very standard needed to touch up a bit here and there. this 4 hours under the blazing sun is a killer. many times you will feel like just giving up and not cont. but the thought of no place to sleep in keep spurring me to cont with my digging. rewarded myself with a can of ice latte of course is not chill.

when night fall i was so tired went to change immediately and sleep in my shell scrap. that day had to wake up at 4am to do sentry duty. nth much to guard quite slack also.

5th day of field camp i was the enemy during our movement test. had 400 blank rounds at my disposal. quite fun to be enemy but also because the commanders in charge of the station make my life easy also as compared to some of my friends. the test took very long!!! i only manage to finish mine like close to 5 i think. by then it was starting to drizzle. quickly make my way back to camp site because i was feeling dehydrated. suddenly it started to pour very heavily.

thank God for good buddy. my malay buddy help me to candy wrap my field pack while i was still making my way back to camp site. this day was really really really very bad. instructions were not pass down well. at the end of the day i was soaking wet very wet. OC made the decision to leave the camp site for a new camp site to turn in the for the day.

upon arrving at the new camp site we were told to lay down the groundsheet cause we are sleeping there we no shelter. there were lightning still. we were told to change out powder bath and jus prepare for RO and slp. the next thing we know we were told to pack up cause there is a change of camp site again. quite frustrating! move over to the next camp site lay down ground sheet. by then i was already very tired and i see no point in changing out and also i have no more dry clothes.

upon reaching there took out my boots change to sandals i went to sleep. probably 30 - 45 mins i was ask to wake up and prepare to fall in for RO and water parade. after this i was back lying down preparing to slp when i got news that they are planning to shift camp site again. by then it was like 10 already.

news came and it was confirmed we are going back to company line to slp. rush to change back and leave the camp site. started pouring heavily again. soaking wet again! upon reaching company line i was already very tired and very angry. RO was fast and by 2310 i guess i was already lying down preparing to slp with my dirty muddy uniform.

that night probably is the worst time to slp. the whole place was so cold. woke up in the middle of the night to look for my gortex jacket. even with that on, my hands were shaking my teeth were clattering. remind me when i was in japan for hol.

when dawn came everybody was happy because that was the last day of field camp and we will be booking out. last day had only BIC to look forward to. the course was tough had to leopard crawl back crawl. thank God i manage to finish it.

spend the whole day in company line cleaning up the store items and cleaning my rifle. another frustrating time because all of us were looking forward to go and bathe after 6 days of no bathing. but we were made to rush like mad to get ready to leave rocky hill. some of my friends did not even manage to bathe while i caught a quick shower before falling in for last parade.

generally i think for me this is the first time camping out. i am not those very outdoor type of person. but i must really thank God that i manage to finish this 6 days. first camp site everyday i wake up with a very sore back ache as the ground was uneven and rocky. last day at the first camp site 3 ppl sleep in one tent. is really a nice exp to get down and dirty and actually sleep at your own shell scrap and thinking i actually dig this whole thing up myself.

also during my 6 days there i think or rather i am very sure my platoon is the most bless because we did not get much tekan from our commanders. listening to stories like how tough and fierce your commanders will be during field camp really will bring some fear. but i think my field camp is quite easy. all those times when i was tired out was because of the activities and not because of any tekan from my commanders. looking at other platoon i thank God that i am in platoon 4.

also during my stay there my malay buddy very good. despite diff religion he always respect me when i ask him that can i pray and all that. other then all the rash, brusies, injuries God really protected me there.

the combat ration is really wow cannot make it except for the porridge. this 6 days camp lose abt 3-4kg. becoming more and more skinnier like some POW like that.

reached back home abt 9 plus. had dinner rest up a bit before deciding to catch mummy 3 with ch, gordon and van. wanted to catch the 1.45am show at cathay but could not. end up watching the 3am show at cineleisure.

i must say this movie is not very fantastic as compare to the first 2. quite dry the story line. ch was already sleeping. shut my eyes during the yeti fight. tired out by the field camp. well the only redeeming point of the whole movie is probably at the end where the fighting took place.

after movie play a few rounds of bridge in the car before we made our way to bugis mcdonald for breakfast follow by some more bridge and dai dee. kindda enjoy the fellowship even though i was extremely tired. hard to like find ppl go out for late night movie and then stay back for breakfast and just fellowship.

by the time i reached home it was close to 8 decide not to slp. read the papers and surf the net. abt 10.30 i was out of my hse again to go run errands with my mom for family dinner. at the same time had lunch with her and my twin bro. went down to orchard area to get everything.

aft that went down to tiong bahru to get lunch for my big bro and dad. from there made our way back. was behind the wheel the whole day. on my part i knew i was very tired. but i did not sound out. so at about shenton area nearing ecp entrance my eyes shut and i lost focus. ram into the curb almost ram into the side railing. that woke me up. first time such thing happen. thank God that the car behind was quite far and after that i was fast to quickly drive off.

Thank God nth serious happen to my mom or brother. really thank God for HIs protection. thank God also never damage the car as well. upon reaching home went to take a nap. woke up at abt 7 for dinner together with my family.

looking back the years i think my family really bonded alot as me and my brothers got older. even though we have our own plan and all that but we try to make it for family gathering when there is one. kindda weird to say this but i find that as the year goes by we are becoming more and more like a family shld be!

had plans to run after dinner but upon looking at my feet, realise my feets are bleeding. got foot rot, still thinking whether anot to book in tmrw anot or go get mc.

looks like now also not much good movie. i think the next few book out i won't be spending much time in the cinema unless there are good movies.

need to mention this..happy birthday Ryan Tay Chai Huat! will make it up to you. nowadays in camp hard to find time to spend your birthday. hope you have a great belated birthday!

well if can wake up early tmrw shall go and jog before i attend the 10am svc.

feeling very tired this whole week. monday was the only day we had "physical" activities. other then that we had live range pract from tue - wed, night live range on thursday and a day live range on friday.

first day of range, on our first try one of the sergeant say my shooting cannot make it. did not really know how to use the sar 21 properly also. talked to my platoon sergeant and he gave me some tips. subsequent shots manage to hit the target. which made it easier for me also. first day we reached back camp i think close to 12 given 30 mins to bathe before lights off. had to wake up early next day at 6.45 to get prepare.

2nd day bsically did the same old thing. in the middle of the day someone reported that he lost $60 and no one want to admit. some of the details were searched to no avail. gave us some trouble. other than this commotion everything went by smoothly. reached back slightly earlier then the first day.

3rd day as my platoon were only schedule for night range we spend morning cleaning our rifle. tough very tough to clean the rifle. and must hit the army standard. after that clean company line, had stand by area before they allowed us to have a 3 hours rest before we set off for our night range test.

was hoping to get marksman in bmt and the minimum score for marksman is 28/32. night range i missed 3 shots. usually night range i don miss but dunno why that day miss 3. i always fare very badly for day range missed alot of shots.

day 4 woke up early for our day range. surprisingly i missed 1 shot and jus achieve marksman. although there is no reward or anything but is good feeling to know that in bmt acheive marksman.

one thing i really thank God is no matter how late i sleep i will still spend time praying while the others are either sleeping or talking when lights off. seriously in army can't spend a day without praying.

before i booked out had our 6 click route march. quite tiring. after route march kanna pump again. i think for every route march can look forward to the whole platoon getting pump. sigh.. no time to bathe as we quickly unpacked and packed our stuffs to get out of rocky hill and catch our fast craft back to singapore.

went to serve yesterday and at the same time attend svc. the new cg machine was in. i was doing announcement and sermon. don think i did a very good job. with the new cg machine is even harder to do sermon even though i need not do the verses, points. wah but jus to coordinate with juslin who was doing the new cg machine and feng ling who was doing directing is very tough. i think i need to go for lesson on how to do directing with the new cg machine. a test of focus as well. can't lose concentration if not thats it.

aft svc went to 85 market to eat and meet up with the rest of the guys who went down there after cg. along the way saw pam. catch up with them and the dinner was good but the fellowship was even better. quite some time one whole grp of us gathered together and go makan. manage to catch up with yongheng as well who book out same day as me on sat. aft dinner went home and jus rest.

manage to do some running around my area. as and when possible like to jus go run and train up a bit keep myself healthy also.

won't be booking out till 8 aug another 2 weeks of confinement. going for field camp. feeling very sian abt it. but aft field camp shld be more relax because can look forward to POP. after field camp i think the schedule will be throwing of live grenade, standard obstacles course and sid test. and can relax all the way prepare for parade, games day and recruits evening.

when i book out definately gonna catch "mummy". so looking forward to booking out!

will be moving over to sat svc earliest aft FOP or latest end of aug.

book out yesterday. had a long week in rockyhill. actually it was quite a tough week. finally feeling it wad bmt is all about. my friends and myself agreed that this week is probably the longest week we had.

finally on monday get our sar 21. it was quite cool to touch our rifle. tuesday had our weapon presentation at ladang. that is when the "coolness" wear off. we were given drill pract and that is when it begin to dawn to me that is actually very troublesome to have a rifle.

true enough that day we only had 15 mins to bathe and do our stuffs before lights off. rush like mad. don't think any of us were happy with the arrangement. following day had technical handling which took up practically the whole day. thursday had our tech handling test which i pass.

anyway in army they will ensure you pass everything on the spot. probably because they want to ensure that everybody get to go for the range test this week and also another thing is so that anything happen you can't blame them but only yourself cause you pass your tech handling test.

friday had alot of activities..was kindda sian because cannot book out. and also everyone was hoping it rain so that route march will be cancel and we can stay in our bunk to rest. well it did drizzle but route march was not cancel and we still had to go for route march. after route march we had a horrid time because i think my sergeant finally snap and start handling punishment to us after a super tough route march. that night was struck down with fever.

well i don't blame him. probably my platoon really took it for granted and also the other sergeants were not helping by complaining alot about our platoon. this coming week would be my 6th weeks in tekong. i don see that it is gonna be easy or anything. i think my sergeants are gonna be very tough on us now sigh...

went to singapore discovery centre on sat for our national ed journey. was still feeling feverish and stuffs. manage to reach home at 1pm. rest awhile before heading down to riverwalk for cg.
actually had thoughts of not attending cg because i was still having fever and my whole body was aching. but decided to go for it.

decide to go for svc as well so that i can have my 10 hours of rest before i book in on sunday. thought that svc was great yesterday. every week jus look forward to coming for svc either to serve or attend. went to join up with shi jie's cg to go for dinner at airport. do a little catching up with him and weiming. quite happy finally after so long.

after dinner wnet home. decide not to let my fever slow me down. need to catch a movie at least so went to catch the dark knight with gordon and van. quite a long show but is nice. at least is much better then the other shows that i have caught recently. almost full house everywhere i checked. thought that when we reached the theatre gonna get like front row seat. but gv tiong bahru actually added another new show so manage to get a very good seats.

reached home quite late. and still having slight fever. not sure can i book in today anot. but if i don book in i am afraid i will miss my range test this week and have to go for a retest with other company which i am not looking forward to.

well this week is going to be another long week as we have range test starting from tuesday to friday. and we might potentially reached back our company at 12 midnight depending on fast we do our range test.

gonna book out on sat again. gonna have route march before we are allow to book out. very sian. this coming week will be the last time i book out before i am lock up in camp again for field camp. which means i will miss FOP. sigh...so looking forward to POP. 9 sept!

its been confirm today that we are going over to sat svc and having cg at 1.30 on sunday. maybe is good also because can have enough rest before booking out. got to talk to kelvyn abt it.

had kindda a lousy week in camp. first 2 days was still alright. enjoy the AGR alot. been raining quite alot this week and some activities were canceled. was the platoon ic on wed. kindda demoralise...felt quite stress. in the evening i had thoughts of looking for my platoon sergeant and request to change.

however things changed during the night. there were some "mess" in the company and after the mess were cleared up my platoon commander wanted to meet the whole platoon. and he started sharing a few things. and from the sharing session i decided to give it a try because i feel that after that talk is not appropriate to go and request a change in platoon ic.

thursday morning whole platoon get pump because a few guys fall in late for 5bx in the morning. at first thought that is gonna be a bad day again. however must thank God that i have good platoon mates because they helped me alot when i was the platoon ic. some even say that i am doing a gd job getting better with each day.

had a crazy day dunno is it on wed or thursday had standby universe and in one day we had i think 2 or 3 standby. from then on we had to clean our bunk everyday for standby. well beside this, had a very relax day on thursday. had no activities and all we do in the afternoon is watched 2 movies "full metal jacket" and "courage under fire". in btw we finally had canteen break our very first in a month. i think the uncle easily earn at least minimum 500 dollar for that 1 hour of canteen break.

knew it that we won't have it easy. after the movie during RO, we were told to do 500 words reflection on each movies. that is our homework from the army. sia la..first time hear got homework one. recently CSM like not in good mood after the so call crack down. dunno whether can i finish it before i book in. must try to squeeze some time doing it if not later drop dunno how many.

had ippt today..quite happy with my results. even though i fail because i fail my pull-up station but for sit-up, standing broad jump, shuttle run i got all 5 points. set a goal for my 2.4 to run 12 mins but manage to go under 12 mins. jus need to slash another 15 sec and i would be in the silver timing. now to work on my chin up.

CSM want us to cut hair again. so now i am botak again. nan de hair longer a bit then cut again. my buddy will be leaving on monday evening gonna have a new buddy in bunk. kindda sad to see him leave because he really is a very good buddy. when we had a little misunderstanding and i misplace my gutters he actually gave me a new pair of gutters to tide me through the week. thinking how to make his last day a nice and memorable one.

today then i realise that actually my company is good. i get to book out every friday unless there is something on. for example next sat we are going singapore discovery centre thats why booking out on sat instead of friday. and we don't have rt until after our next ippt on 2 august.

finally is 1 month inside. ptp phase is over. the tough training are abt to kick in. can't wait to quickly pop. thank God i nv kena guard duty on 26 july. only kena reserve guard duty on 24 july. can't imagine booking out on a sunday morning and book in on sun evening. hopefully next month guard duty i get the weekday slot instead of weekend slot.

going to catch hellboy 2 later most likely with van and dan. need to go and enjoy myself after a miserable week in camp. from the trailer i think is a good movie. and this month there are quite a few nice show. next week when i am out on sat i will def go catch batman.

been feeling very tired and have been contemplating to attend sat svc on alternate weeks so that i can have max rest on sunday before i book in. well yet to decide on it yet. when the day come and i don think i can take it anymore i will most likely attend sat svc and sun svc only when i need to serve.

my dad finally got his new car yet to see the car yet but do wan to drive the car if i have the opp later.

so looking forward to serve this sunday. once in a while need to serve. glad that even though i in army i still can play a part. probably maybe after i pop a few weeks settle down in my vocation avail myself to serve both sat and sun again.

went to the prata house at upp thomson there to makan with ch, yh, jason, dan and colin. had a great time fellowship with them. stayed there till 3am before i send everyone back home. probably gonna org one more when yh and ch both end their confinement week. but got to plan again.

had cg at riverwalk today. after cg went to have late lunch before a group of us head down to orchard there to just kill time. left orchard at abt 7. decide to join the guys who went for svc today for dinner at 85 market and do some catching up before i go back to tekong.

had a great time with people like shang, shunfu, joe, hx, jr and mel. shunfu was sharing with me his army exp. and thank God for cgm those guys help me with the commands. although i thank God for this chance to be platoon ic but if ask me i hope my commander will forget abt me.

caught hancock with van at tiong bahru. well i must say is just a so so movie only. not a very fantastic show. i must make it a point to try to catch at least 1 movie each week when i am back in sg. nowadays hard to find companion to go watch movie together.

had plans to wake up early to go for morning run. however looking at the time now i am super tired and have to wake up super early to send my bro to his camp as well before i go for svc. seriously lack of slp. if can shall wake up go for morning run if not will jus wake up late.

finally is book out day again. always look forward to booking out each week. although i adapt well to life in tekong but i still think nth beats staying in mainland singapore and of cos able to go back home.

this week schedule not so bad. after missing 5 days (including weekend) of training realised that is not very wise to miss training because find it tough to get back to the training regime.

as usual 5bx every morning to get our body engine starting. had a 4km full battle order route march. even though miss the last 2 but still not so bad nv feel anything. able to complete it without much trouble.

had agility group run. during the cat ippt i was place in grp B. had to run 20 mins non-stop under the hot sun. in tekong practically everyday is very hot. had some trouble but still cont to persevere.

had another AGR yest not so bad, because this time round i think my fitness got better because i felt very alright and not very out of breath. just nice because the next ippt is next friday so hopefully can hit the passing time since i failed by 30 sec the last time.

manage to pass my first aid test and also my swimming test today. after 2 days of no rest we had a relatively slack schedule today. manage to book out earlier as well but the bad news is have to book in early on sunday at 6.10pm.

monday and tuesday will be AGR again to help prepare us. wed light activity follow by a slack thursday in order to let our body rest for the ippt.

so can't wait to book out on friday next week. probably after next week i will be booking out on every sat. quite sian to know that i will be only booking out on sat. sigh...but nvm another 10 more weeks and i will be out of tekong provided i pass the compulsory tests. 1 down 2 more to go.

going to meet up with jason, yh, ch and dan later for supper. so called "last supper" with yh and ch before they enlist next friday. wanna catch a movie aft that but see how...dunno whether will i be tired anot. probably before i go to slp shall go run ard my estate for 30 mins. keep the momentum there.

if can't watch today i will go catch it tmrw night! at least must try to clock one movie per week. bunk mate ask me to go out tmrw but not too sure do i want to anot.

appointed to be platoon ic next week. kindda dread it because i not very sure abt the commands. shall go and brush up and ask ard wad is the commands. thank God because not everybody gets to be a platoon ic and my platoon have a total strength of 45. being platoon ic is a way for the commanders to assess your leadership quality and see whether can you go command sch like sispec or ocs.

i don't mind going sispec though be sergeant. OCS if can go also don mind but doubt i will want to go there since is quite harsh and strict.

finally i am back after 2 weeks at tekong chalet. well was quite apprehensive when i was there like a lost sheep. thought that life in there will be tough but after 2 weeks i think i have more or less adapted to the place there.

i am enlisted into ZULU company which is located at rocky hill. which also explains why i get to book out quite late as compare to the people at ladang. but sigh..i don really mind also because the bunks there are more fit for human.

heard from my bro that at ladang the toilet all no door so you actually bathe together bare naked with all the guys. but at rocky hill we have cubicles and the bunk is actually so much bigger then ladang. God is good!

not only that i am bless with good section mates/bunk mates. started out with 11 of us in the section. but 1 already OOT (out of training). my buddy also want to OOT which will leave me "buddyless". one of the guy in the section seem to be struck with depression. other that then i was able to click with the rest and i quite enjoy their company.

must admit though that because of my buddy negativity i was slightly negative abt my exp in tekong but good thing i am a Christian every night pray if not i think i won't be able to adapt to tekong life. can't do a day without praying.

above all, i must really thank God for good platoon commanders! in my company only my platoon have the BEST commanders who doesn't come down hard on us and actually treat us like human. eg. lights out at 2230, other platoon commanders can actually ask their whole platoon to fall in at 2215 at the parade square when we are all preparing to slp. so i must really thank God for good understanding commanders. can say that other platoons people actually envy us.

get to make alot of new friends there. know practically all the malays and the only indian guy. he is probably the most hilarious guy cause he really bring alot of laughter everytime he talk. one memorable incident was when we were told to go for breakfast after 5bx and it was dark and he was running to the cook house when he actually feel into the small drain and end up injuring his body parts and having a swollen thigh. he really lift our or rather my mood up everytime i see him.

skip all the details. quite sian a couple of days ago had a headache and wasn't feeling well. next morning was struck with sore throat and now having cough. like wad my indian fren say wad a time to get all these just when you are ready to book out.

just wanna thank all my friend for actually availing all their time to msg me to talk to me on the phone and help accompany me to finish my 2 weeks there. also got my allowance from the army today!

book out today thought of enjoying the 2 days before i book in again on sunday 1945. hard to find ppl to go out. thank God manage to get glenn to go out together. caught the new movie "WANTED" at tiong bahru. quite a tough movie to understand if you don't focus and concentrate. i think tmrw also go chiong one more movie before i go for another chalet. but maybe go out with cgm well unsure of the plans.

can't wait to attend svc on sunday. feel so weird the last 2 weeks nv attend svc at all.

adapt to tekong life already. feel so tired throughout the movie. even now my eyes feel like shutting and tmrw at 11.30 i have zone meeting at rw. hope i can wake up early.

woke up slightly later today because i finished the last 6 episodes of hungry heart wild striker. now i am going to start on this jdrama "last friends".
went to work later then usual. purpose in my heart to finish everything by 45 mins so i can go home have early dinner and rest before i go out again to meet up with char, dan, glenn, van and bryan at cineleisure to catch the chronicles of narnia: prince caspian.
today made me realise one thing which i need to keep bearing in mind. made char angry. think maybe because i treat as super good friend then tend to forget not to over familiarise. failed to inform her i am caught in a jam and will be late. but thank God she cool off after we entered the theatre.

know that she looking forward to catch this show for a long long time and probably postpone it to catch it with us. quite a nice show is a pity is not doing well in north america since it had to compete with indy 4.

in for a surprised after movie. char reveal she is treating all of us. we proceed opp to have supper at kopitiam. we were having a great time with one another since it was quite long since we met up with char. stayed there all the way till 11.30pm before we proceed to go home.

one of the topic we touched on was oversea trip. char was saying she wanted to go new york during christmas season. how i wish i can go to. checked with my dad it will cost probably 4k - 5k. think that new york is a nice place. but shall leave it to another time.

was contemplating walking home from bedok. but decided to call my dad ask him can he pick me up anot. usually i hate to do it because i think they have a long day already and i don want to trouble them. just nice my mom wanted to eat porridge so my dad came and pick me up. able to reach home at 12.30.

got a surprise..wen kai msg me say can he pray for me since i am going army. manage to squeeze in short talking with him. last time we saw each other was last month. my ex pcgl remembers me as well called me to pray for me.

along with members like jia wen ask me am i prepared for it anot. even sean wanna send me off. feel so love haha.

tmrw plans cancel. so got some free time. time to start packing my stuffs. get everything done. probably meet up some of the people or jus slack at home.

wed seriously doubt will be going jb. heard that ch got a virus and almost black out today. shall give him a call tmrw since he did not pick up my call. probably on wed will be working early, spend some time with ch go out, have dinner with my family and hopefully can squeeze in one more movie with char because she asked me go catch sex in the city.

although van got ask me wanna watch anot but i not say very keen watching this show. heard that is a sequel to the hbo series. but char say some of them say even if u don watch the series is ok u will still understand. well see how again see can plan one more movie with char anot!
since i am so free tmrw i shall pop by my dad's shop and go and work again. earn some money and kill off time.

maybe i will try to update everyday since i am going to be offline for 14 days.

quite a nice show because i don believe japan is the only country facing this problem but probably most developed countries face this prob as well. trying to find out new source when i can catch current jdrama. finally newer jdrama are up probably finish one more before i go ns.

currently catching this anime in addition to bleach. trying to finish it before i go in army. left with 6 more episodes before i finish anime. same author as captain tsubasa but i think this is much better then capt tsubasa. read probably 3 book and i decide to give up on capt tsubasa cause is very unrealistic.

anyway on thursday went to meet up with glenn, van and hx. glenn and van treat me a meal because i am going in army already and i would be spending lesser time with most of them as well.

after svc with rev robb thompson, waited for shang before me, van and him went to simpang bedok to eat prata. feel so comfortable ard with them. cause we can talk play since we are so good friends with one another. also i was able to also spend the night msging pam and chat with her. was a good night as well =)

today met up with marc to come to church together. been a few months since he last came to church. trying my super best to make him wanna decide to stay and also attend cg and svc regularly. whole day been making alot of effort together with ch and bryan to make him feel welcome.

even when we ended our fellowship at airport. he joined us at vivo after dropping by at his aunt's house. bro send him home and i got to learn that he will be more free up to join us for cg. do not want to add more pressure to him in coming. slowly step by step hoping to enter into his life...glad he nv close up and still very open to me and ch which is a very good thing. now trying to get him to come play soccer on tuesday and convince him to come for the encounter night on thursday at riverwalk with me.

after 3 months plus finally met up with my good old dear friends yh and jason for dinner today at vivo. we have been good friends since all 3 of us ch, yh and myself met jason 6 years ago. he was the one that really sow into our life and make us feel welcome. as we grow older we meet up lesser since we are in diff zones and diff cg. but really must thank God that we are still very chum with one another. was joking next meeting is 4 months later. but hope is not that long.

after svc aiming spoke to a grp of us. i really must thank God that He answer my prayer. although i won't say is a meeting that everyone is looking forward to but i was dying to just get everything settle before i go in NS. slowly inch by inch i just feel that i am inching nearer to clearing the wall that was errected that kept me and my friends apart. although there is bound to be awkwardness but at least everything is cleared which makes it easier to start rebuilding everything again.

tmrw meeting char go catch narnia in the evening probably at cineleisure dunno where she will buy the tix. very long nv see her...also sort of "last" time i can meet her. since she is only free on monday and i am busy on monday.

tuesday play my last soccer with the guys before i announce my retirement from this sport. yh ask me to go jurong west pick him up still undecided abt this whole thing though.

wed hopefully can go to jb with those who can't make it for the youth camp. spend some quality time there with them. and hopefully squeeze in one more movie. now that there might be a slight prob with the arrangement. got to wait for ch confirmation before everything is decided. if not is teppanyaki dinner at home with my family. trying to work out how to squeeze everything on this day.

thursday will be attending the encounter night at riverwalk at 7. and have a last meal with the rest of the ppl after the meeting.

friday prepare myself for a new phase in life at 2pm. and start my 2 years of jail term as coin by my member.

these are my plans for the whole of next week.

actually feeling very neutral to the whole ns thing. but seeing each day kanna slowly eaten up feel kindda dunno how to say. yosh..can't wait to book out on 27 june. can't wait to go and serve on sat and sunday!

forgot to blog this down. sunday after bbq tearle drove me and sasha home. first time i sat in a van. actually quite cool also. a very good exp having the whole compartment (dunno wad u call) to myself.

was supposed to join jackson, van to JB. but could not excuse myself from work. feel so pai seh, ps them. met up with sj for dinner because while he was making his journey for his zone camp he was asked to come on wed instead.

went to taka seoul garden for dinner and to catch up with him. planned long time before i go in army have a meal with him at our usual hang out place.

tuesday, first time i got my hand on the gps. had to wake up early drop my dad to meet the accountant, my bro at sgh and also go tiong bahru have lunch with my mom at the same time buy back food for my family.

seriously i think i got a huge problem trying to use the gps. feel like is talking foreign to me haha.

wed whole family minus my twin bro accompany my mom down to mount e for her checkup. praise God doc gave her a clear bill. no longer need to chauffeur.

went to sembawang to pick up shijie. while sending his members home the gps use a foreign language to communicate with me haha. i think is best to depend on myself instead of the gps. only shi jie know sigh...

anyway feel so loved. hard to find time to actually try to meet up my members to go out. ppl like chai huat, glenn, van, shang, bryan, gordon really make me feel so loved. because i will be going in army in exactly 8 days they are trying to spend more time with me.

trying my best to meet as many ppl up as possible. sorry ch heard that u disappointed i don really wanna go cycling pai seh. before i go ns i sure make it up to u man! tmrw most likely meeting glenn somewhere in town for dinner.

tonight is indeed also a great night! this kind of night is rare very rare but God is good!

hmm..got fine $50. exact place as where shang got his fine. i think marine parade carpark is definately out of bound from now onwards. feel like i am giving away free money like that. will go to parkway carpark instead pay that 2 bucks then lose $50.

had a chat with aiming. close to 2 months i have been quite bothered by something. in the end after the talk with aiming in my own heart i made a decision. felt that i got to know her more. svc was great and i really feel that God speaking to me and show me alot of things. because of the sermon that pastor preached today i decide to open up and pour out everything to aiming.

had ministry outing today. it has been some time since i go for ministry outing. really enjoy myself down there although it took me some time to shed away the awkwardness. but as time goes by i was warming up and started enjoying myself.

see myself joining up with the team more on such outing. a good chance to wind up and relax and also get to know the different ppl in the team more. quite looking forward to the next outing although got a feeling i might not be able to go because by then i would be at tekong. well nv know maybe still got a chance.

today the team in a sense celeb for me because i will be going army. today is the last time i will be serving. will only be back after 3 weeks.

getting very tired nowadays..looks like no chance of going overseas anymore since ch sort of "ps" me. forever have to postpone plans of going overseas. exactly another 12 more days before i go chalet.

can't wait to book out after the 2 weeks confinement!

caught indiana jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull on friday. in my own opinion is probably nt the best out of the 4 installments but still any avid fan of indiana jones franchise would love it. don regret watching it. although there are report that there might be a 5th installment with shia lebeouf being the main cast and harrison ford the supporting cast. well not sure abt this but one thing i am very sure is if there is a fifth installment i will go catch it.

sat spend some time at dan's place for fellowship before heading to tamp then to 85 market for makan with shang and ch. gordon joined us and we just have a good chat with one another. saw felicia chin there saw quite a few times.

had plans on sunday go to the great singapore sales to take a look at things like what things can i get for myself and also head down to esplanade to catch the singapore arts festival water play. went down to city area must say first time in a long while since i been to orchard to shop. with a rare appearance from shang. rush down to catch the play alast but fail to make it because shang took quite some time to buy his stuffs.

so went over to marina square with shang and gordon to cont fellowship. mainly talk about our future and finances before heading for home.

was intro to play maple story again. kindda enjoy playing but is quite frustrating cos for 3 consecutive days i have been ban. this morning is a record 10 sec into the game and i am being ban. frustrating. but is fun if can play together with my cgm can jus talk and fellowship during the game.

just finished catching this jap drama call dream again. This original series stars Takashi Sorimachi as the pro baseball player Shunsuke Ogi, who is forced to retire after a shoulder injury. been sleeping very early lately like at 8pm, or even before 6pm. dunno wads wrong with me. sleeping early and waking up early. probably is good also. that explain why i have been mia recently from the net.

shld be serving this sat. although not sure yet must wait for the schedule to be out. if nt will still be going down for svc since is rev thompson coming to preach. sun have a ministry team outing. my last outing before i go into ns.

haven't get the tix to kl yet. mus get it done soon. was chatting with pam on sunday. ok glad that ch wanna go for a short hol too so i won't have to go alone. probably end of year go somewhere else.

2nd june going to catch narnia with char. was abt to asked when she beat me to it. trying my best to maximise my time to spend more time with my friends. dunno is it june 3rd that jackson asked me to go jb for a day trip mus go reconfirm again.

went over to shang's place to catch the final of the european champions league. pulsating match, nail biting match. this match is so different from 1999 when manchester united bang in 2 goals in the final mins in nou camp.

was telling shang next time when i am much older i will definately travel to catch the final btw man u and whoever is their oponent for that night. enjoy a classic european final.

went home wanted to catch indiana jones which i recorded earlier. after 1 hour i decided to switch to american idol. nv caught a single episode of american idol this season. caught the finals with my dad. must say is hilarious to see jack black, ben stiller and robert downey jr feature in a classic gladys knight midnight to georgia video.

after the whole american idol spend some time talking to my dad. because now i have the chance to spend alot of time with my mom. i realised one thing she was telling me how much my brothers have. i am looking to join my big brother rank. so i set new goals for myself 23 to get 10k.

since zone prayer meeting changed time to 3. initially wanted to catch indiana jones at 9.45pm but looking at the time now is impossible. very tempted to catch either the 12 plus, 1 plus or 2 plus timing. but hard to find a companion to go watch. so bidding my time for now wait till is nearer to this timing before i make my decision to catch it later or friday night.

last sat my meeting with ming jing changed to 8.45am. sia la usually i like to crash and wake up late on a sat. really have this very good impression of mj. had a good talk over tea with him. and somehow he reminded me something which pastor also mention yesterday during svc "the kingdom of God is all about relationship".

therefore i decide to change and stop running away just because i wanna keep friendship. time to confront it and stop being who i am not.

was supposed to serve on sat but last min got a call from kelvyn that i no need to come down to serve. take it as a break. for the first time in probably a month stayed back to fellowship longer with my cgm.

after fellowship accompany shang to parkway to look for some stuffs and at the same time have dinner. really love fellowshipping with him. we just got alot in common and we don really run dry of topics.

rushed off to downtown to catch "what happens in vegas" with bryan and van. my bro really show something to me. he was suppose to go to his friend house and he already wanted to use the car. but at the last min he gave it up to me and stayed home the whole day.

this event made me realise one thing i shall as much as possible nt use the car and probably future movies i will go with my own timing. he really sacrifice alot for me. when i want to use the car he will give it to me, in the past when i am left penniless he will be one the that lend me even though i don pay him back.

sunday train van and emily because i am going to NS soon so need people to cover me. but looking at how things go. actually there is not much of a worry. i really think that my team have ppl who are capable and also they are so quick to learn.

after service decide nt to join the cg since they are heading to orchard. went off with shang to bedok to have lunch and chat. join arthur and colin for lunch there. talked abt army life.

went to work today. found out that my dad is paying me $70 each time i go to the office. and my job usually don take me more then 1 hour 30 mins. if i go in everyday within 30 - 45 mins i will be done. but is the after work that take up my time. because i would be going to supermarket, bakery, buying dinner for my bro in camp, etc.

was thinking probably is good if right now if i work everyday can earn more money. keep the money rolling in. realised that because the past month i have not been spending much i do have a sum of money left and able to help ppl who might need some cash. so probably if can tmrw i will go to work if not i will resume on wed.

chatting with van and she asked me these set of questions...lets say aft u got married, ur wife tells u that she slept with ur best friend the day before ur wedding night. ok den lets say one day before ur wedding day, she confessed to u that she slept with ur best friend during ur courtship... but it was becos she accidentally got drunk and she told u before the wedding day cos she's very guilty abt it and very repentent. den another senario, both u and ur wife are married for years with two children, but one day she comes and tell u that she slept w ur best friend even before the both of u had ur first child and now she lost feelings for u and want to go to that guy, leaving the two children with u, den wad if one year aft she left u, she comes back to u again telling u that she regretted her decision and wans to come back to u.

each has their own answer. but for me according to van she say i very calm and cool. well i will keep my ans to myself. apparently these sets of questions was what mj asked during his discipleship class. something to keep u busy and thinking.

want to catch indy 4 this thursday since downtown have alot of available seats. then remember that thursday have zone prayer meeting at riverwalk at 7. want to be one of the first to catch it since it receive a respectable review in the cannes festival. regardless of the review i am still gonna catch it.

maybe i shld drive down and then maybe see can catch it somewhere there or tiong bahru since there always no ppl one. if not probably is friday. must get someone to help me check out the availability of seats.

yesterday went to city hall to meet up with bryan, dan, ch, van, gordon and ben for dinner and have a short fellowship. along the way we met wen kai and sher. very long since i saw wk. had dinner at marina sq and played few rounds of bridge and bluff before we made our way home.

had breakfast at east coast mcdonald before i went home to send my big brother to camp. haha in the end cannot find yew tee drop him at sembawang instead. in the end only manage to slp at 10.

2 plus i was up to accompany my mom to town area to go get some stuffs. finally found out a place whereby i can skip all erp to get to town area. just hope that government don suddenly erect a erp there. is so costly to jus drive to city area!

received an unexpected call from ming jin. will be meeting him for breakfast at his place there this sat at 10am. then will be going down for cg and then to church to serve. looks like my sat will be very pack.

looks like everybody having their zone camp in june. will be having mine as well on the 11 - 13 june at changi chalet. doubt i will be there also. since i need to go in army on the 13. probably attend the word session.

think tmrw might need to go down and work...

finally found a saviour in the form of ch. hopefully tmrw when we discuss everything he ok book the tix and jus go for a short holiday! he increase my hopes by a little already.

nvm i will sacrifice this holiday go somewhere near and end of the year hopefully can apply leave go other country. heard my cgm say go hk, taiwan. if i can apply leave sure go with them.

send my bro to the train station this morning after i finish watching "warlords". collapse onto my bed the moment i reached home.

afternoon heard that my bro charges have been change to 28 days SOL. so no more 10 days DB. in my opinion i think is better even though it means he won't be back for 28 days. drove my parents to get dinner and some stuffs for him.

now i am so bored i am very tempted to catch this show even though is not a show i am very interested in. i am still struggling to come to a decision to catch this 1220am show or catch stardust at home on the laptop. sigh...

caught made of honor last friday. read the reviews and surprisingly critics hate the movie. but for me i think is a not so bad show. decide to go catch the sneak preview since i was kindda bored at home. now to catch a few more remaining shows.

was surprise to see pam for svc yesterday. usually don't see her on sunday cause she have cg. slipped off my mind that it was mother's day so naturally most cg would have it on another day. her mom was there for svc.

seeing everybody slowly bringing their parents to church got me to start as well. slowly step by step i believe one day they will come to church.

went to this pub cum restaurant near my place to have mother's day dinner. that place has a very good ambience. a place to slack. can't remember its name even though i have been there 3 times i think is call boogie something.

basically did nth much this year for mother's day. aiming was asking me how am i going to celeb and was giving me advice when my ans was like orh jus dinner lor. but i am waiting for her to recover and bring her out for a meal. don't really remember doing such things before. so before i go in NS i am going to do that.

not only am i a first rate nurse/chauffeur/errand boy i have added another title to my name. because too many things happening in my family i am now helping out in my dad's business. i prefer to give myself the title young/small boss.

for dunno wad reason my bro confinement have been change to DB and he will be formally charge tmrw and will be serving his term tmrw as well.

because my mom ain't fit to work yet i am taking over her position to lessen the burden on my dad's shoulder. also at the same time earn some money for myself. although i also dunno how much am i paid but is alright money is no longer a factor afterall blood is thicker then water. not going to fuss abt money like i do in the past.

as he went to see the mp regarding my bro case pushed forward the date of me helping out my dad. well mp cannot do anything also as he can't interfere with miltary affairs.
well so now is back to myself again all alone. well i am not complaining. one thing i regret was when my dad had his op i wasn't there for him but rather immerse myself with cg. but this time round decide that i need to make certain sacrifice.

in order to win them over to the Lord i need to stay home more. let them know that church is not everything to me but family is. well i pride myself in being more mature in the last 1 month.
because my dad was so good to me by even compromising when my mom was in the hospital the only way i can ever pay back is to spend more time at home and juggling with the many roles i have to play.

i realised that i love my mom and dad more and more.

this week onwards will contribute more time for fellowship because i have not attended any for a month but don think will spend too much time as well. van counted i left with only 4 sats/suns. so got to plan it wisely.

yesterday went to this jap restaurant shokudo which is model after marche to celeb van's 19th birthday.
took a grp picture before char left to meet eunice for massage.

depart city hall at abt 10 after we finished a few games of heart attack. made my way to new york new york to get a strawberry cake with val while the rest made their individual way home.

need to finish the surprise for van. but could only do it aft 12 because need to tend to my family needs first. but well nonetheless glad she enjoy her surprise.

stayed up the whole night as my bro would be coming back from taiwan that day. it was at 3am when we received his call. went with my dad to go and pick him up. next month on the 9th he will ORD and 4 days i will start my life as a recruit. 2010 so looking forward to it.

still have not decided which country shld i go before i go NS. sigh..really need to make a decision soon. well made up my mind that i wanna catch "made of honor". next friday i shall go and catch this show. looks quite nice show.

serve as director today for sermon. thank God it was much better. overall thought that today the whole team serve very well. not much mistakes which is good.

came slightly late because need to send my brother to camp. after service stayed back for 15 - 20 mins before i make my way home. send val home to get her wallet and drop her at the bus stop so she can make her way down to airport to join the cg.

haven't really been spending time with cg for maybe a month. promise to do so after mother's day week. will spend more time with them.

don have much time to spend with the cg. so before i go in NS must go meet up with bryan after his exam have a good chat. spend some time with my previous zone member.

jus wanna take this chance to say happy birthday to my good friend VANESSA! couldn't do much surprise for you since i had it plan quite late and also did not really wanna take up much of your time since you are having ur marketing test later. glad you are happy and surprise.

seems like the plan is to meet at raffles city at one of the jap restaurant located at basement in the evening for dinner and to celeb her birthday. till now i am not sure will i be meeting her in the noon or evening.

manage to go and serve. but report late. can't make it at the designated time. had to stay home for a little while before i can leave hm.

well today did announcements, communion, sermon, and a few songs. reason why i am serving on sat is because kelvyn want me to do things that i hardly do in chorus board.

sermon was challenging. just following pst alone is so tough. although i did sermon before but today sermon is nth compare to last time. pst was jumping all over the pages. really made alot of mistakes. was quite frustrated with myself.

from page one jump to page 3 jump back to page 1. had a hard time following pst tan preaching. in the end i believe i miss 2 pictures and 1 verse. feel that i let down kelvyn.

well that did not deter me from trying sermon the next time when i am given the chance again. because i thrive on pressure and stress. the only thing running in my mind when i made all those mistakes was alright cannot must help pst and deliver the msg smoothly.

well at the end of the day all these mistakes made me realise i need to be more sharp and more zai. van was asking me is not your fault right. but i view it as my fault cause pst already supply us with the notes. and is not easy for pst to just deliver the msg without everyone cooperation.

got to jia you! mus really pray more ask God to make me more sharp more zai! hopefully when i enter army i can still be actively serving in chorus board.

met up with char for a little while after service. chatting with her. been some time since i last saw her. gonna impart my secret to pass and get ur driver licence to her next week and also be her first few passenger.

well truely God is good. made me a happy guy today.

went for make up cg. love to attend e444 cg. well not because my good friends weiming and shijie are there. but probably because the the evan lead is great. how the members freely express their love for God. e444 cg meeting is so different from my cg.

whenever i have to go for makeup usually i will choose to attend this cg. i can't express with words how the whole meeting went. if ever have a chance is great if you can attend their cg once.
after cg, me and weiming we discussing about catching iron man. in the end decide to head home first before we confirm anything. was tempted to really cancel it and just catch it next week since most of the theatres were quite packed.

but was talking to van on msn decide to change my mind. had a hard time tracking weiming. last min we decided to catch the show since tiong bahru gv had so available seats.

left hse close to 12. gordon made me wait like eternity for him. rushed like mad in order to make it in time for the last show at tiong bahru gv. was slightly late. got van and gordon to go down and purchase the tix first while i go park the car.

surprised to see pam and her cgm. was told that the tix booth was close. shld have asked pam to help me get first. nonetheless we decide to try cathay. manage to get 3 tix for the 1.30 show.

not so bad movie. the last few movie that i can catch before i go in NS. i am really looking forward to 2 more shows, chronicle of narnia and indie jones. so wanna catch indie. always been a fan of indie. 22 may gonna be the first few to catch it. got to update myself fast.

in a few hours will be at expo. require to serve. but as of yet i can't confirm can i go down to serve. got to arrange with my dad see possible for me to serve. thank God that my mom is feeling better. got to start working for my dad soon!

heard from gordon that dan is interested in going to krabi. oh man i really need a break a hol! got to ask him and keep my fingers cross that he is ok to go during june. if not i really got to make other plans.

just finished wonderful life. currently quite hooked with watching jdrama. i think gonna start on another one which was 8 years ago and probably one of the very first few jdrama i ever watched.

anyway today got a little break went to play street soccer and ended up injuring both my feet. sigh..both feet giving me quite alot of discomfort.

returned some dvd to shang and borrow quite a number of new dvds from him. i am his only platinum holder. trying to get it upgrade to diamond platinum so i will have unlimited access to new dvds haha.

ended soccer at 7.30pm. drove him back and pick up some new titles. ended up leaving his house at 11. talked quite alot..life, future, finance, relationship, cg, family, etc. i can't remember when was the last time we had a long talk with one another.

enjoy talking to him alot. there are times there are problems that i will share with him and he will always encourage me. love to talk to him about finance probably because we have similar thinking towards our finances.

was talking abt something and i said this no matter how far i reach out..you're the long-stemmed flower that i can never reach. so if i can i would have nv done wad i did.

going makeup cg with van. its been some time since i went for evan's makeup cg. looking forward to it because my buddies are in there. can catch up with them as well. really very long nv catch up with them.

busy schedule today. send the car for servicing, send my dad to buy some medicine, then accompany him to the chinese sinseh, at night went out to buy some stuffs for home before getting pizza and garlic bread from pizza hut for my mom.

well this are the small little things that i can do. i think i know why i am asked to do all these because i am cheap labour. haha i don charge. just kidding. well i am not complaining in the end i had the majority share of the pizza and garlic bread.

while we were waiting for the sinseh to see my dad, my dad was telling me he is going to sell off the merc and change it to toyota rush. next year get the new BMW. when my bro come out he is going to get a mazda rx7 (i think kanna cheated is more like rx8) or can't remember mazda mx5 one of the sports car. well not excited or anything because when my big bro come out of army i don get to use the car also. probably next year the toyota harrier will be going also.

he was saying no point having too many big cc cars at home. toyota harrier if i nv remember wrongly is 2,300cc and cost 140 for full tank. the merc is 2,700cc and cost 200 for full tank. well when he say he is going to get a toyota rush i was like stun. a asian car. wow that is something new. but i guess this car will be pass down to my mom when he really decide to get the new bmw.

well i think it was last week that i saw the new audi sport car audi r8 wah super pretty. wish i can own one but i ask my dad he say probably cost half a million. more ex then a hse. so not wise to buy. next time when i am rich i will get one sport car one audi suv.

well tonight clash of the titans man u vs barca. hopefully man u don disappoint me. gonna stay up to root for them!

decide to end my work so that i can stay home to take care of my mom. all these years don't really think i contributed much. now perhap is a chance to do something. in order to keep the income coming in decide to here and there work for my dad again.

was asked to serve for drama during mother's day which would require me to serve at jw and expo and also attend a few rehearsal. was having a tough time trying to decide. talked to van, val, ch and pam. finally after weighing down everything decide that i will find it a bit tough to commit to the drama. really thank God for understanding caring leader.

was surfing the net. when i came across this jdrama called Proposal Daisakusen. apparently it snap up the best drama award for last year. is a nice show quite hook to it now since there are no heroes avail.

these past few days had been a hectic one for me. very tiring. have been devoting a considerable amt of time to the hospital.

thursday had a sleepless night while my parents caught a few hour of rest before we head down to mount elizabeth for my mom's op. thank God that my whole family can be there think my bro will only start his confinement this coming week.

spend a few hours at the hospi waiting for her to come out from the op theatre. when we visited her at her ward she was super weak not feeling very well. spend probably 30 mins there before me and my dad went home to let her rest and also for us to catch some winks.

went back in the evening to visit her. was driving my dad and we had a conversation. the last couple of years was quite tough for me because my dad was strict with me in the area of finance. back then i was like angry but looking back i am totally independent and no longer need my dad to finance me anything so i don think is a bad thing aft all.

few years ago when me and my bros were learning how to drive he told us that he will get us a car so we can share. but it did not came to pass when we got our licence. well while we were on the road he told me something that "shock" me. to ppl who do not know my dad will think he is stingy but to me i feel he is saver.

he was sharing with me he is not stingy or anything in fact he has no problem buying us car or anything. even if it mean getting 3 cars for my brothers and myself. but the only thing is that why he did not want to is because at the end of the day when we receive the road tax we are just going to throw it to him and have him settle it for us.

well seriously i did not think of asking him to get a car for me. was hoping by 25 i will be financially sound and able to afford my own car. was jus sharing with shang i was hoping to be a millionaire by 25 but talking to my dad it seems far fetch so now i zero it down to 100k. one zero less.

he made me realise one thing very impt. my mom's hospi bill will run up to in btw 8k to 10k. and he said that when u are struck down by illness, ur 10k will be immediately wipe out. i am 21 and may have start learning to save late but is ok. i have 7 more years to equal my dad feat to save his first million.

friday was kindda bad cos my mom was seriously not feeling very well aft the op. did not spend much time with her. left early with my dad so she can really catch more rest.

saturday decided to go for svc after cg. svc ended unexpectedly late. was thinking will the hospi allow me to visit my mom anot aft 8. drove like mad trying to beat the traffic to reach there in time. again she did not have much jing shen. accompany her for abt 15 - 20 mins before i decide to leave so she can slp early.

wasn't feeling too well probably because of the lack of slp and too much worrying. over the last couple of weeks i think i did not spend much time with my gd friends. decide to go home straight aft svc. i guess probably my mom saw it that i rather come back for lunch and dinner that we had more family meals together.

so yesterday went to join ch, dan, fabian, van and val at bedok mcdonald. at first i was quite listless very tired. but they got me to join in with bluff, heart attack which got me to lighten up. though it was a short meet up but i enjoy it.

went over to visit my mom again. this time round we were there longer. she was feeling much better but can see still not say very well. but good thing is she will discharge tmrw at 11 plus. will go down with my dad. is it one year plus or 2 years ago he had an op on his leg also. kindda know that his legs are kindda his weak spot. decide to take leave and just be there.

be going in army real soon. i really really wanna go oversea. was actually thinking of going to phuket or krabi. a short relaxing hol. i think will be going last week of may or 1st week of june. unless someone decide to go like middle may. got to start planning for it if not is jus gonna evaporate again.

on monday night my bro came home to tell me that he might get charge and go DB for hitting a taxi while driving. is like one after another.

been fasting everyday and praying alot this whole week for a quite some things. one of it was hoping that God will do something. going to DB means leaving a record behind. well God is good. wed my bro told me because of his recruit status they cannot charge him for DB but rather he will have to stay in camp for like 10 days without coming out.

tmrw will be my mom's op. also dunno will my bro be back home today or will he start his confinement today. all of us will be going down to accompany my mom.

had dinner with her and my bro yest at east coast. she was saying how her fear grip her and made her unable to go to sleep. all i can do is pray that after the op the wound will not hurt much and everything will be good.

helped her with some of the work till 1am before i went to bed. will be the only person home when my bro start his confinement in camp and till my big bro come back on the 6th of may.

been thinking wad to do for her on mother's day. so far did not really do much. was thinking of bringing her go makan but don think she can also until she fully recover. well probably will b a belated one then.

hectic weekend. most prob will jus drive down for sat svc and spend sunday with her at the hospi.

so amaze by my cgm this young boy bryan who is just 13 years old. his passion, his hunger quietly inspire me to do more. been praying with him over the phone for 2 days. presence of God was strong.

he is really a sweet boy. after dinner with char he went home did a prayer list send it to me and we start praying. i must say there were element of fear since this week my mom will be going for operation.

but like i say presence of God was strong. half way while we were praying God asked me to turn to this verse Psalm 6:9. close to 40 mins on the phone with him had not gone wasted. just like this verse say the Lord will receive my prayer.

it did not just help to calm my fear knowing that God will make sure everything turns out smoothly but also a testament that God is a God who hears and answer our prayer. is an encouragement to know that when both of us stand together tarry together God will be in the midst of us listening to our cries.

this young boy really inspire me alot. from one who rejected me to come regularly for cg meeting to one who is passionate for cg, for his ministry and also the people that around his life. in him truely i see Jesus.
